what is the exact difference between using jass and triggers.....i mean it looks like anything that can be done in jasss can be done with triggers......is there something jass can do that triggers can never accomplice or does this somehow reduce the map size or something?

Well I managed to make a few spells that look prety nice, that I couldn't do with triggers. Well it doesnt reduce mapsize that much, really no big difference.

Yes, you should look at tutorials, JASS is the type of programing used to create Warcraft3, the regular triggers are just a simplified way of using it. Now, JASS is best used (If you know how) Because there are no boundaries. You can do anything in the game that's possible. Triggers are limitations because not every little idea and EVENTS, CONDITIONS, or ACTIONS have been put into a simplified way, (Default triggers.)
So, that's why JASS is important for breaking the limits

im beggining to doubt jass is more effective than gui....people say that you can't properly make abilites work right if more than one character has that ability and cast it at the same time....they can be evaded using arrays last time i checked...

JASS is very useful and has the ability to do many things that CANNOT be accomplished using GUI. One of the primary advantages of JASS is the ability to eliminate memory leaks or dynamic trigger creation. As was stated earlier there are many functions which CANNOT be found in the GUI. The bottom line is it depends on what you want to do, if all you need is to spawn units, generate items or simple functions such as that then use the GUI, but if you want really unique custom spells, a map that doesn't lag to all hell half way through because of spawn leaks or refrence leaks then JASS is for you
