That's the first question. The second is: Should I use the cityscape brick wall cliff thingy for a wall that has regions on top of it, or is another better for the job?

Cityscape brick wall can be used I guess. Maybe barrens cliff too, for ravines - but you'll have to augment it with doodad rocks so it doesn't look too monotonous. ...Cityscape may also need to be augmented 'coz the flat images on them don't really look good alone.

Isn't disallowing pathing the main purpose of the cliffs? And you said just that they are horrible and they suck. Why they suck?
Disallowing pathing and look are 50% of the reasons together, both have the same parts.

Well they suck because:

1.) They are flat
2.) You can't decide the tile
3.) You can't do more then 2 cliffheights without needing of an additional place.

and:
They are overuseD!

Ok, so you talked about general tiles and I talked about cliffs.

Is there any diffrence? YES, cliffs do horrible things with tiles while tiles
CAN be combinated in all variants. Also there are more tiles so you can place good looking variants on ground. But how to if you only have 2 clifftiles each tileset?? Also you failed the main talk.
