Congratulations for being choosen to partake in the Starcraft II Beta test for Blizzard's lattest game, Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty.

After the release of patch 9, the game now includes a beta version of the powerful Galaxy Editor. For those of you who want to try it out follow these steps.

If you have the beta already installed and unmodified, skip to step 3.

1. Download Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty beta from your Battlenet 2.0 account. If you were choosen by blizzard, the game will already be attached otherwise if you received a key you will have to attach that key like you would any other game key. Clicking on the game icon in the menu will progress you towards a download for the game. Then run and download the game following the clear instructions provided.

2. Install the game by running the installer that was downloaded. Follow the intuitive steps Blizzard guides you through. Uppon completion of the install, the game should auto update. Each update is separate so expect multiple.

3. Start the game (via taskmenu or desktop links). The game will then eithor initialize updates or reach the beta menu. Make sure that it comes up with the beta menu before moving on to step 4. It is advisible to log in just to help blizzard with their server load testing and then close the game.

4. Go to your Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty Beta install directory. This is usually in the Program Files folder (32 bit one for users with 64 bit OS) in your C drive. If a custom install path was used you will have to remember the path you provided. In that folder you will find a file called "StarCraft II Editor.exe" which will open the Galaxy Editor when run.

5. If this is your first time running the editor, you will be presented with a once off liscence agreement to read through. After agreeing to it the editor will proceede to load and eventually present you with a blank map. This map will be the default shown map all other times you start the editor.

You must have a valid Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty Beta Key to use the editor legally. Atempting to run it without one violates the Terms of Use and thus is not supported by this site and can potentially end up with legal complications if Activision Blizzard decides to persue you.
