If you are going to create a campaign or rpg scenario, then you need a realy good and interesting storyline!

all together, you need 'skill'.

...a lot of time so you can put a lot of effort into it. Don't just slap a bunch of stuff together in a few hours and proudly call it a map...

Also sounds like you are using a translator, because of grammar. You also need balance, not some item called like, "Dark_Shenglong is awesome" that gives you stats or something. That's the gay type of crediting people use, which I usually tell people not to play. Anywhoo, like they said, storyline, terrain, units, and lastly, at least 2 interludes if an RPG. Also not secret cheats, rigged items, or using trees as walls, and flat terrain.

Also, you need an incredible amount of persistency to withstand the infinite insults and criticism towards your project, which drained almost every moment of your leisure for many months, just in order not to give up like I did.

i'd say to make a good map you need a good idea once youv'e got a good idea you need good terrian then you need some good heros and spells i think spells are very inportant. if i download a map and it just has the normal spells or no trigger enhanced spells i just say what a **** map. even though the map might have been a very good map

that tells us more about you as a person, than what you need for a good map.

A good map is interesting, and appealing, find your own way of making it both/either.
