You can, Pharaoh_, but it doesn't give the event such as "continuous detection" such as Arrow Key where you have Player press the key, and Player "does not release the key yet" event.
If we use abilities to trigger the movement, the player has to spam press it in order for the unit to continue to move.
I am imagining when someone is asking for "WASD" movement trigger, he meant to move like Counter Strike movement, where you hold the key, it moves, when you release it, it stops.
Though Pharaoh_ is technically correct, It'd still go with "not possible".
You can inject RtC (Reinventing the Craft) which has a keyboard (and mouse) API, but that changes your wc3 and anyone without RtC would not be able to play the game.
Arrow keys are the best you can do in the regular world editor.
There is an event called "Player - Keyboard Event". U use that as an event and then order the unit to move to point.
May I ask that u are making a third person shooter map? Or something like that.
i am using this arrow movement system made by Moon_assailant-click here
download it and try it in warcraft and if you like it just copy it in your map :/
