With -Tales of Tolerot RPG- in the making, I decided to make my very own side project, Dawn of War. The Warhammer 40k series, which include Dawn of War, Dawn of War: Winter Assault, and Dawn of War: Burning Crusade (Dawn of War: Soulstorm will not be included) will be released as a multiplayer skimish maps. This will NOT be any means like the Dawn of War campaigns, or the skirmish maps. The terrain will be custom, but the units will be based on the Warhammer 40k units. Enough, let's talk about the game play and such!
Warhammer 40k - Dawn of War
The first map of the Warhammer 40k series will include may skirmish maps which will allow players to host many maps which will include different landscapes. Each map will be close to 160x96 map size.
Gameplay
The Warhammer 40k gameplay is very similar to the original computer game. There will be spots on the map which will decrease your movement by a certain amount. Buildings will be built to go onto the second level and fire at your enemies from above. You will be able to upgrade units to a certain type of weapon. This would give players to upgrade units to either a sniper(Scout only), missle launcher, heavy bolt gun, plasma gun, or a flamethrower. Custom and original abilities from the game will be used.
Units
Space Marines
Servitor - The Space Marine Servitor is the basic builder unit of the Space Marine army.
Scout Marine Squad - Scout Marines are junior members of their respective chapters, initiates not yet worthy of wearing the Power Armour of the Adeptus Astartes.
Space Marine Squad - The Space Marine Squad, commonly referred to as Tactical Space Marines or "Tacs", are the bread and butter of the marine's infantry force. Nine foot tall crack soldiers with genetic enhancements, sophisticated armour, centuries of training and powerful weaponry, they can hold their own in most fire fights.
Assault Marine Squad - The Space Marines' Surgical Strike and Shock Troops, the highly mobile Assault Marines close the gap with the enemy and easily kill them with their roaring Chainswords.
Grey Knights - Skilled soldiers of the Ordo Malleus, the strength of the Grey Knights surpasses that of even their fellow Space Marines.
Terminator Squad - All Space Marine Chapters maintain a number of suits of the revered and rightly feared tactical Dreadnought armour, or Terminator armour, as it is more commonly known.
Assault Terminator Squad - All Space Marine Chapters maintain a number of suits of the revered and rightly feared tactical Dreadnought armour or Terminator armour.
Skull Probe - The Skull Probe is one of the many types of mechanical servitors the Imperial forces employ.
Apothecary - The Apothecary is a warrior of supreme might and bravery, whose role is to save what he can of the Chapter's gene-seed.
Space Marine Heroes
Force Commander - The Force Commander, imbued with the righteous fury of the Emperor, leads his brother Space Marines into the maelstrom of battle, wielding the mighty Daemonhammer.
Librarian - Space Marine Librarians use their psychic powers to unleash devastating attacks on their enemies, as well as augmenting their own physical prowess.
Chaplain - Chanting catechisms of hate and spurring brother marines to victory, the Chaplain is an inspirational leader.
