Warcraft question

As I was looking through the WC3 viewer I noticed that there were more than just 12 team colors. Why is that and whats the point when you can't use all of them in game? So, I'm curious; is it possible to add more team colors to Warcraft 3? Has it even been attempted yet; to make a mod that would add more team colors to choose from in the game?

lol, there were colors for neutral hostile and passive.

I do not think the possibilty to add more exists, but replacing the current ones is possible, yeas.
