Warcraft III Image Extractor

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This program lets you view the textures used in Warcraft III. You can use it to convert textures and can view both the Roc and TFT mpq files.

Warcraft III Image Extractor (Binary)

I am creating many skins for villager model for my map and I do everything right: I export the image and edit it with gimp which is one of suggested programs for editing. And after I save it in tga and want to convert it to blp I can't open my file with this program, says that it has unsupported something bla bla...... Anyone has a similar problem with this program?

this thing is illegal because it enables reverse engineering of warcraft 3.

Wat? This thing isn't illegal in any way.
It's a BLP converter made for wc3, nothing else.
But really, go ahead and report to blizz if you want.
I'm pretty sure that even if it were illegal they wouldn't care a shit about it. ;)

Oh, it works. Just need to run as administrator!

As i said...

Hey i am New whit edditing whit skins, screens etc. I got Warcraft Image Extractor II and got all the files: storm.dll ijl15.dll mscomctl.ocx comdlg32.ocx and i still get errors when i upload an image it won't load ??
Some ideas how i can fix it ?

Hrm... I'm getting an error...

Anyone tlel me what that means?

I had the same problem before, just download the file http://www.afreeocx.com/ocx/info/comdlg32_ocx.html and move it to your System32 folder (if you have windows xp or 7).

Also: when I open this TarGA image it tells me that the image has an unsupported compression, anyone that knows the solution to this problem?
Okay so I changed the extension from tga to blp and now I get an error message only saying: Blptag.

It won't work -.-
It says something about a missing .dll file.
If you have a vista software (like me),
Right clik on "Wc3 Image Extractor II.exe", go in "compatibility", "set the compatibility of this program for [Windows XP] (or equivalent software)" and activate the admin mode when lauching the software.
Normally, it should work.
this _MACOSX file what is this?
It's probably for the mac.

Hey guys. I didn't have any problems getting the Image Extractor to work. However, what I'm trying to do is replace existing data within the MPQ file. On another much older forum I was reading about how to customize team colors in Warcraft III (outside of the built in selection), and someone said to use Image Extractor II to extract the BLP files and edit them in something like Photoshop.

...but that's all it said, and I've done that, but how do I get the modified BLP back into the MPQ?

EDIT: Okay, so I ended up having to use WinMPQ to actually modify the MPQ contents. Never mind.

Mine gives me an error that reads as follows: "Component 'Mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

For Windows users, maybe v2.00 should be used instead of v1.95 which is downloadable from the OP.

Version 2.00 can be downloaded from this post. The contents of the RAR archive are binarily identical to the ZIP download available from Wc3C.net.

Mine gives me an error that reads as follows: "Component 'Mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."
@SMBComix: Is this issue solved?

To download the file when the download button doesn't work :

(For Google)
  1. Right click on the Download button
  2. Inspect
  3. In the newly opened tab, you can see '<img src="styles_yadayadayada/download.png>'. Just go one line up, there should be a '<a href="bundles/warcraft_yadayadayada_1576841292" rel="nofollow">', this is the link that was meant to lead you to the folder to download. Just click on it.

If you have the 'Component "Comdlg32.ocx" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: A file is missing of invalid' error :

Just launch the exe as administrator
