Variable and teams

Ive got two easy (i think) questions:

1) There is a way to set a variable in event? For example in event Unit in range another and set variable as a value of range?.

2) And I know its stupid but how to set teams i mean that player 1 and 2 are one team and teal and purple second team?

1) Use the local variable? I don't quite understand what's your question.
2) Go to Maps -> Player Properties

If We talk about 1 question. I wanna set event: unit enter within range another unit. Normally value of range is a real number and you can type any you want to but i want to change this range and to do it i need variable. Local dosent work i ttried

You can change the range without using variable =.=

You need to use Variants. Use the pre-made variants, and delete every single one except the 2v2.
