Upgrade Problems

I am creating a custom Ogre race and I am planning on making a campaign where you play as that race. I am creating my race in the campaign editor and I am planning on importing the race into the maps I create. The Only problem is that custom upgrades I create will not show up in the unit editor when I am trying to make a building research something or make an upgrade affect a unit. Please Help me

Do you mean that when you research the upgrade, no changes to the unit occurs?
Or, you do not know how to increase the level of upgrade?
Or, something other than those two? If so, may you explain more specifically?

No what I mean is that when I select the upgrade I want to make a unit require It isn't there
