EDIT : i think it's a bad idea, the ability icons won't appear as well.
the only thing i know is that you can hide the attack button by setting the 'Combat - Attack 1 - Show UI' and 'Combat - Attack 2 - Show UI' to False on object editor for each unit which you want to hide the button.
