Have you tried rotating them via the object manager?

I'm able to rotate the unit using CTRL but while in the game when its placed on the ground it's not fixed vertical or horizontal its just random. Reason being is that I use an item and the item creates the wall on the ground but the wall can rotate randomly which I don't want. I've seen other maps have it I just don't remember though.

Okay, this is new to me. Could you please explain how it's possible to rotate something using the object manager?? :vw_wtf:

Also, to the original poster:

Have you tryed removing the pathing map of the wall and setting
Art - Fixed Rotation to -1 by holding the shift button when entering the field?

You would have to set up pathing blockers instead but this would make it possible to rotate the wall in any direction.
This is ofcourse only for when you're using doodads or destructables.

EDIT: Oops I overlooked >.>
My mistake, this wasn't what you where asking for :(

EDIT2: wait, are you using the model of a unit as a destructable/doodad?
Because then it does help xD
Or is it the other way around?

EDIT3:

Have you tryed setting Movement - Turn Rate to 0 for the unit?

There is no fixed rotation tab for a unit...

The unit properties when you double click a unit... Its actually part of the object manager if you haven't noticed...

I'm sorry, at first I thought you where talking about doodads, my mistake.

EDIT3:

I'm using the unit farm I couldn't find anything else that was close enough for a wall pathing. I'm using a model of a wall and I want it to be vertical and horizontal but it only appears to be set at horizontal if I make it a building. If I make it into a unit it sets its rotation random which I don't want. I need the wall to be a unit/building because its the only way it will work for my project and I've seen this done before. Which the wall would be created and placed from an "item" then place on the ground of choice vertical or horizontal.

Art - Fixed Rotation <---- Does not exist for that

Isn't it setting the rotation randomly because you're not making the unit face to a specified degree?
  • Unit - Make Building face 270.00 over 0.00 seconds
*Unit - Make Unit Face Angle
And setting the turn rate for the unit to 0 will make it impossible to rotate after being created.

You can turn it around into a specific angle via double clicking and setting it into the dialog which opens I believe...

Not if they are not pre-placed... ^.-
Either ways, the solution is now given for both scenario's.

Nope didn't work I thought it would but the unit doesn't rotate that's weird.

I thought that was what you wanted?
Then simply change the Movement - Turn Rate for the unit?

Here is a quote from one of my previous posts:

Isn't it setting the rotation randomly because you're not making the unit face to a specified degree?
  • Unit - Make Building face 270.00 over 0.00 seconds
*Unit - Make Unit Face Angle
And setting the turn rate for the unit to 0 will make it impossible to rotate after being created.

So setting Movement - Turn Rate to 0 will make the unit unabled to rotate...

Nope didn't work I thought it would but the unit doesn't rotate that's weird.

It's not weird, it's what I've explained...

If the units are pre-placed in the editor then:

You can turn it around into a specific angle via double clicking and setting it into the dialog which opens I believe...

As I said before:

The solution is now given for both scenario's

Scenario's referr to pre-placed units and units created through triggers.

As re-stated (how do you make a [unit] create a wall or gate horizontally and/or vertically) In other words the World editor is not a unit so it is not pre-placed and even if it's what you thought I wanted, your (solution) didn't work. I have changed the movement to every type including NONE and also tried different turn rates including 0 otherwise I wouldn't be re-posting that I have this problem also that trigger doesn't work with this, either your missing some information or your (solution) doesn't work. I appreciate you trying to help though.

(how do you make a [unit] create a wall or gate horizontally and/or vertically)

So let me get this straight:

A unit needs to create a wall? In what way?
How is the wall created?
Can you show us a trigger?

Obviously you must have a trigger if you're saying that the wall is not a pre-placed unit right? Show us what you're doing.

Ummm that is basically my question?

A unit needs to create a wall? In what way?
In a way that a unit needs to create a wall?

How is the wall created?
That is what this thread is about

Can you show us a trigger?
The only trigger I can think of is the one you posted which doesn't work.

A unit needs to create a wall? In what way?
In a way that a unit needs to create a wall?

So do you want a peon to be abled to build a wall?
When does the wall need to be build?
Is it a build order?
Will the wall be build instantly or will it take time?

There is more than one way to build a wall you know...

The only trigger I can think of is the one you posted which doesn't work.

That wasn't a trigger, that was an action which can be used inside a trigger...

Tell us more about what you want to do with this wall?
aka provide us with more information please?
