Ok here's my idea for a map, the game starts, each player then chooses a 'Tribe' of creep for example ogres or dragons each with a different objective to achieve. Army building would work as such, each tribe would have a central building or unit that produces 'young' every 30 seconds or so. These young after a period of time would grow up into more powerful units and then dependant on certain researches could become even more powerful and specialised. Each tribe would have it's own specific strengths and weaknesses which it needs to work with to achieve victory. For example ogres, would be cheap and powerful in combat but lack ranged units and vulnerable against flyers. Dragons would feature the most powerful units but they would produce young twice as slowly. Some other ideas of tribes are Demons, would inhabit a separate area of the map and then open a portal for an invasion. Beasts, made up of wolves and bears focusing on a fast moving army and hit and run tactics. Bandits who would be able to set up ambushes but would lack the phyiscal strength of other races. Some ideas for the objectives, Demons would simply need to kill an number of units, Dragons and Bandits need to amass a certain amount of treasure. The map would also feature a large well defended city of neutral humans which would act as a secondary objective e.g. to destory the city. There would also be various outlying towns of humans less well defended which could be attacked for rewards. The idea is for a fast and competative game with each tribe trying to reach their objective first by any means. Anyway do you guys think the concept is worth putting time into? The other tribes I am considering are Kobolds, Nerubians, Mutants (faceless ones) and maybe trolls.
