Three Tree Template is a map I created for failed game play, (It didn't work out.) So instead of wasting the map, I decided to share it with others, enjoy!
Features:
- A river
- A Cave
- A Road
- Camp sites
- Trees
- A meteor
- AND DUCKS
Credits: Uklabokalala, Fingolfin, Verdun, eubz, Ergius, , and kellym0. Thanks for all the models!
The terrain was not done well for multiple reasons. In the precise I moment I opened the map in the World Editor, there were a massive clump of overcrowded trees, making the tiles almost invisible. If I didn't hide the doodads, I would've never seen clearly the tiles used. Also notice that if this template is to be used for a playable game like an RPG, you must have a terrain which does not obstruct the normal camera view and that's not your case sadly. Basically, your template is limited to cinematics but even applying cameras can be quite complicated with the congested trees. Speaking about the aesthetics, they were pretty poor. While tile variation and raisings/lowerings were visible, the overall result looked bad. There are so many firs that the doodads below them are literally hidden. From what I managed to see, you did a little good job with doodads. Still, I would recommend the following: adding areas of high altitudes (which means raising the terrain a lot), removing Blizzard's cliffs because they are notoriously known for being ugly, adding more Leaves tile to wipe out the monochromatic aspect the grassy tiles have and lastly, yet not least important, adding a larger number of rocks to the mine (I suppose it is a mine that area to the very left of the map) and replacing cliffs with huge-scaled rocks (with that I mean rocks of Scale X,Y and Z more than 200.00) to give it a better aspect. Since I am not a real expert of terraining, I would suggest reading lots of tutorials about terraining here.
OVERALL RESULT
In conclusion, the template requires a lot of radical changes because in its current state it is unacceptable thus this is rejected with a rating of 1/5. Don't get discouraged, just try more and read terraining tutorials and you'll do it.
