This has baffled me ever since I started using the editor. I do alot of maps with 1 hero and lots of units, and in some instances I like it when my Hero is the tank, but in alot of other instances I hate it.

It's annoying when the second my hero enters the battlefield, every unit focuses him down, including enemy heroes, so he doesn't get to do anything. He dies immediately and the only way to balance it out how enemies attack is by just taking the hero out of the equation.

I've tried using Priority, does not work at all. So my question, is it possible to distribute threat evenly with heroes and units WITHOUT the use of taunt?

Yes it is!
Don't target other Heroes to attack with your own hero, If you'll do that, all units arround u starts to attack u, it's a simple formula from wc3...
You have to let him attack by him self...

@D0W3R: I do let him attack by himself, what ends up happening is every unit and their mother ignores all units around and focuses on just him. Even if it's impossible for the unit to get to the hero, they will still circle around and try to find a way.

@Dr Super Good: I'm not sure how I could trigger an aggro system without it bugging things out or making gameplay worse. Bear in mind I don't want the hero to be ignored, just not snuggled to death by everything! Any tips or specific triggers that could at least get me going?
