I thought what if i create a thread where posts can be done by the thread starters to have any threads of theirs they want to close down if they no longer need them. That way spamming may be reduced some what. Any moderator who sees the requests here can close down the threads.

First submission will be mine

I do not need any of these now.

I've always figured closing s thread because nobody is saying anything right now is pointless. Someone could come along with the same problem, a slightly different but mostly the same question, a better answer, a point not previously noticed, just something in general that furthers the topic.

Take this thread for example. If nobody needed a thread closed (or your threads get closed), would we close this one?

I think that would be a great idea if you could close it yourself. I made a thread like three month ago, and it's still going. (And now very off topic.) And if we could close them ourselves that would probably save the admins a lot of time, if people just report it thats more work for them. I think we should be able to do things like that ourselves (Only to our own posts of course.) If we want it done, we should be the ones doing, not making the admin 'slaves' do it for us.

Moderators are the ones that volunteer to do exactly that, so I don't think they mind. :P

I still see no reason to close a thread for lack of immediate discussion. The only valid reason I can see to close a thread is if it becomes problematic.
