Just playing around. Two versions, one slightly darker.

seems like a rather odd decision.

It's an artsy decision, mate, artsy ;)

I like it, I think I do prefer the darker version, it makes the light from the cup
more dominating and imposing, as well as making the somewhat empty background
more obscure, which sort of veils the fact that there's nothing there.

Those tiles, though, the cracked tiles, where'd you get them?

Nice job, very pleasant to the eyes! I think I'd stick to the darker version too. The brighter version is too desaturated and feels like it has been through those popular instagram filters.

I like the scene, very believeable and all. Plus it is easy to feel immersed in it, for me thats a big deal. Too bad the cracked tiles seem flat on the cracks, you can clearly see they have no depth from that camera angle, and have some odd tiling. Not that it is a big thing though.

:)

Yeah, the blue moon cup is out of focus because it lends the idea that there's more going on outside the frame. I get that it's a strange idea, but I kind of like it.

Good to hear you guys like the darker one too. I worked with the brighter one throughout but switched to a darker fog colour when I was tweaking the lighting and it just looked better.

It's from tobyfat50's maps. Asian Gardens, unless I'm mistaken.

Yeah, that sort of dawned on me too late. Any height variation on this scale, even with the smallest brush, would just be spikes. :(
