The Interceptor presents...

The Zerg Rush™

After finishing the Naga map, I'm proud to announce my new project, The Zerg Rush™.

This time our heroes are facing the horror of the Zergs, who are a step away to destroy them. Our team has barricaded in a dank forest near an abandoned electric power-station and an old hangar. We managed to build two heavily armored strongholds but the zerg forced us to escape. Now we desperately repel their attacks from our settlement, defended with electric devices, but we are running out of elecrticity! We must capture the power-station, eventually regain control over the strongholds and try to use the machines from the hangar before the zerg tries to! This is our last chance to destroy their swarms, burn their hives, extinguish the core and wipe them from the face of our planet... or else they will shatter all of our population to pieces!

Genre: Survival/Capture/Raid
Teams: 2
Suggested players: 1-3 vs AI or 6+ vs 1
Typical duration: 30 minutes to 1 hour
Size: W: 128, H: 160
Base tileset: Fellwood Ashenvale

Brief description:
- Up to 9 players are Humans and try to defend their base from the zerg rushes. Each player controls one Hero and no units. The captain also controls the defense.
- Their electric defense is powerful, but while being switched on, constantly drains power. In the beginning Humans receive an initial amount of power, but they cannot produce it by them selves. Running out of power automatically switches all defense off. Electric defenses are invulnerable, but not all of them can be switched on at a time due to el. network supply limition.
- The defense can be switched on and off anytime and the captain of the team controls it. The only way to produce electricity is to capture the power-plant, which is periodically attacked by the zerg.
- There are 2 heavily defended non-electrical powered outposts, which also have to be captured in order to be controlled, but they are optional.
- The machine hangar's door opens in random periods of time and provides a useful machine to the player that reaches it. However, the zerg can also reach and capture the machine.
- If the humans destroy the zerg's hives and then quickly eliminate the core, the final round begins. A huge zerg rush spawns all over the map and raids the base. When the final zerg rush is repelled, the Humans win.
- If the Humans fail in eliminating the core, the hives are reborn.
- If a Human dies, his hero respawns after a certain period of time.
- If the Humans' base is destroyed, the Zerg is victorious.
