The meaning of "Gem Activated" and "Gem Deact

I was just wondering if anyone of you know what the gem does in warcraft and diablo and prolly also starcraft. ??? This is a mysterious thing!

Someone once told me it masked swearwords but I dont think thats right

I suppose you mean in the editor, then it turns on/off death animations when deleting units (and doodads etc. too?).

The gem is so that when it is activated it allows the units to play death animation when deleted and sound when you click them so that this allows the user to know what the unit will be like.

Yeah it allows units to play death-animations and other stuff in the WE, I personnaly always have it on.
