The Gauntlet - A Template\Terrain

Setting: This template presents a small forest scenery in which a river and a road intersect nearly diagonally. A standard thing that is seen quite occasionally.
A little difference is that there is a burning camp scene on the top-left of the map.

Description:The description on hive is fine seeing that it is a template but can use improvements by including a description of the scene that has been placed.

Terrain and environment:
The tile variation is good enough giving it a natural look.

The doodads' use is fine as far as their variation is concerned. But when it comes to their actual placement there are problems. Many of the doodads placed in the map are in mid-air. Many trees & rocks placed near the river bed are in mid-air. As this is a small map so such mistake would make it a problem for the map maker who uses this.

The mountain that have been used are a little spiky(Sharp slope on the top).

The camp scene is good enough. It gives a good setting to show a raid. The little changes that could be done are that the barrels of explosives can be taken out as the scene is post raid. One farm present in the camp is on the slant. The ground should be made even.

The environment can be improved by adding wildlife & lightning effects.

There are only 3 things that bother me here:
The map size is really small (it would be good for the cinematic-prologue of a campaign only), the little AoS-river and the fact that if you try to make a camera view the village, you end up seeing the end of the map (again, this is because the low map-size).

Though the terrain is well-done and it's harder without custom recourses, like this map.
A very good change is that the path that goes through the river isn't under ater as well (if it would be under water, it's the standard simple river seen in many maps).

Well, if anyone needs a terrain for his campaign where a city is raided, this certainly isn't a bad terrain.

Approved with a 2/5 (Lacking) rating.
