Maybe he was master of a powerful race that lived on a planet in Nether long ago. In his lust for power he destroyed everyone he loved, conquered the whole planet and then destroyed it in his try to get even more power. He has understood his crimes and evil and sought retribution for his crimes. As he was dying Titans came to him and he gave his soul to them in eternal servitude, to help other races understand that the power only destroys and never helps create and protect.

As I said before: He was a Dwarf (or a Gnome xD). The Dwarves were created by the Titans which make it possible. He did some good things (like fighting Old God-creations like Elementals or something...) which made the Titans love him, but he got slain in a battle with Old God-followers. The titans decided to give him an extra chance and thus he was "shaped" into an observer...

Or else the titans just created him from the Nether when thehy were fighting against the Old Gods. Hmm...
Anyways, is it okay if Old Gods created Obsidian Statues back then, but later gave them to the Aqir, as a thank for their servitude?

Well they were actually made by Aqir, but it works, best variant is that you say that Old Gods tought Aqir or gave them needed knowledge to make them.

Actually he abandoned real divinity. He is now just simply lying to his people that he is god wile he is just a guardian.

He even for some time was dead because he was sick of people nagging about his op. But "someone" resurrected him and wanted to make LOST series.
