The Civil War
Current version: Beta 8 link: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/maps-564/civil-war-beta-8-a-154634/
A map by dixcity (now a clan HONS production)
Currently in Beta stage - specifically working on balancing, testing possible features and errors, and polishing the game experience
Features/Concept:
The basic concept of this map is having an army represented by a single unit on a "world map" that travels around, and when it comes in proximity with an enemy army, both sides fight out on a separate battlefield with individual troops (similar to the Total War series, but real time and multiplayer). The North or the South can win by raising their morale or lowering the enemy's morale, an act which is done by capturing enemy towns, winning battles, and seizing the enemy capital.
Where the map is now:
The map currently has a working system that is tested and working. Ideas to be implemented include a wider variety of troops (militia etc.), Generals to issue commands moving all the individual units of an army in concert, a wounded unit system where ~20% of units killed in battle will instead to be sent to a "hospital" where they slowly gain back health until they are ready for battle again, and a battle points system to decide who wins battles among other things. The map now includes a working retreat system.
Some Screen shots:
Example of a battlefield (where the individual troops fight).
The "World Map" of America with armies represented by a single unit.
Skins used for CSA and Union soldiers respectively (I am definitely not a great skinner ha)
