The Addon Buildings

Hello
Here is my problem:

I would know how to build an addon to a building like in starcraft.
I know that a building can build another building (i'm not talking about upgrading but building) but i dont know if its possible to make an addon requirment.

Adding an add-on? maybe just create the building next to the current one...

or if you could have custom models, its better... one with the original, the other with the add-on, then create two buildings, one using the original model, the other using the model with the add-on... then you can just use the normal building upgrade method...
