Okay, I'll give you few reasons why this contest's theme is a complete failure:
1) You must create an already existing X-mas (Christmas is something else) character or a X-mas toy. There's no creativity and originallity in that... I don't know, judges are supposed to judge it but I don't know how are they gonna judge it...
2) What are X-mas toys? Nuttcracker, teddy bear, girl's dolly, train, wooden horse thingy... you mean like that? So what else could it be? Or, can someone make an action figure of Batman, will that be a X-mas toy?
3) Christmas is a religious holiday for Christians, it's the day when Jesus was born. However, X-mas is all this crap with santas, reindeers, elf helpers, presents, 'X-mas' tree and other... so... do contestants have to be original and make Christmas characters and toys or X-mas characters and toys?
4) What characters? Here is what I think:
Christmas characters: Jesus, virgin Mary, God, Angels, Three Kings... maybe someone else, also.
X-mas characters: Santa Claus, Santa Claus' wife, reindeers, elf helpers and maybe Krampus... so who else? Don't tell me it's the snowman, because as far as I know, people can make snowmen without knowing what's X-mas or Christmas.
5) Theme is restricting... let's say there's total of 20 X-mas characters and toys, so it would be 20 contestants to make all that 20. What after that, they must invent some new characters or toys, damn it. Which brings us back to originality again, they must be original with something, like GnoobSauce is trying to be, but you keep saying that it won't be counted unless it's something that was not created by him... I mean, someone/something that he didn't invent.

My suggestion is... allow people to be creative and original or start the contest all over again with a new theme (maybe Nature or Circus/Cartoon/Toys, since they had most votes in the poll, I think). If you can provide me with like... total of 50 X-mas characters or toys, then you can leave everything as it is, but then remove 'Originality and creativity' from what's gonna be judged.

EDIT: Alse, here's an awesome example of how people should create their skins. It's a snowman, in green colored armor and cloak, riding a reindeer equiped with red colored gear. To me, that's original, I've never seen a reindeer being riden by a snowman. But... for this contest, it's not acceptable... snowman riding a reindeer isn't a X-mas character, no one ever invented it, so... too bad.

i said i would allow any kind of toy for this competition. that gives almost endless possibilities. since it intersects with holidays and such, since it is holiday season, i included christmas stuff. So thinking about it, it is not all that complicated.
And i don't know why everyone is saying i said christmas toy. ANY KIND OF TOY WILL BE ALLOWED

and to FrIkY the snowman on a reindeer would be goo for this contest. it would be acceptable. however something random dressed in x mas clothing isnt really creative.

Then why don't you just rename it to "Toys", instead of "Toys and Christmas characters"? You confused me... And, I'm sure that in the description it said "...transform it into a Christmas Toy or Christmas Character!..." maybe you edited it, or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Also, you said that you are gonna make Buzz Lightyear, so... will that be original? So, is "Batman" or invented (example) "Gigaman Z" action figure skin going to be equally original?

You can always be original and you can always judge creativity and originality. If you can't think of something original or creative within this theme, that has more to do with your creative capacity than with the contest theme itself.

Where were you people saying the theme's bad in the contest submission thread? Toys got a lot of support, so it got hosted. Dentothor added christmas so there was a bit more choice. :/

You didn't get it, Stanakin. GnoobSauce tried to make a skin that has X-mas spirit in it, but Dentothor said it won't be counted because it's not an already existing character. So, he is not allowed to invent anything, he has to use someone's original idea... also, I thought that the theme was "Christmas toys and characters", so I wasn't sure who are all those characters and what are Christmas toys. Oh and, true, toys got a lot of support, but not X-mas characters. This is anyway just a twisted version of my idea, my idea was Circus/Cartoon/Toys (examples).

Fucking seconded.

Dentothor, you need to fix this theme. If you don't then I will do it for you whether you like it or not

i dont know what you mean by that but i'll try

also, i havent started on the face.
Use a less saturated color pink i.e. more dull, less vibrant, etc..
many saturated colors in a close area give a very unappealing effect, but given the nature of the contents of the skin (candy), i belive that just reducing the saturation of the pink will kind of offset the saturation of the other objects in the vicinity.
