TempleOfSacrifice

This is the building where the tribal witches, sorcerors, priests, witchdoctors and warlocks of the Trolls are trained. It further offers every research for Troll casters. This kind of building is only used from Troll tribes of tribes that live in the tropical forests and jungles of the South, like Stranglethorn. Every disbiliever who is brought inside such a temple never comes out alive again, he/she is usually sacrificed by the priests and his/her blood is given to the warriors as a drink and to paint their weapons and trophies. Whenever a Troll caster is being trained, enchanted blood floats off the entrance stairs! It further is a bad idea to destroy this (for the Trolls) holy structure, as this will carry a bloody revenge-crusade as a consequence, and there won't be any regret from the Trolls in it! The tribes that pray and worship in these temples are those who also have the war turtles and shark riders, so defiling this building is a pretty dangerous goal and a very bad idea. Even if most tribes are at war among themselves, they will unite for a revenge crusade if such a temple is ravaged. Have fun with it and feel free to use it in any way you want!

Lol this is useful. Instead of manually doing it on world editor, why not make it a model and save more doodads space right?? Good job!
yeah, why not  Thank you, old friend! :ogre_hurrhurr: Well, i'm actually planning to make an entire huge, partly-pathable, unique Troll temple so that units can walk on it all the time and do whatever they want there. This will be a huge doodad.
EDIT: that aside, it's not makeable in the World Editor, as most of my models.

I like Trolls and I love Sunken Ruins, but... Meh. This seems nice, but rather vacuous. Is it meant to be like a big empty hangar? Seems like there should be more... stuff. Smaller space & more interesting architecture, + doodads and stuff.

Don't get me wrong; it's certainly not bad, and for what you appear to be using it for, nearly perfect. I just have a hard time seeing this in other Troll races (not enough wood. xD).

I completely agree with this. The temple looks neat, but it lacks a whole lot of that Troll feel. Perhaps add some more fetishes, tiki masks etc. And yeah, definitely some wood.

Looks good, nice!
thx a lot, my dear friend :ogre_hurrhurr:

thx, dear neffew :ogre_haosis:

Yes, but there's a philosophy behind the way it's made, and here are the facts & reasons:
  1. As mentioned in the discription, it's supposed to be a building of Troll Tribes that live in tropical areas
  2. If you have WoW, just go to STV (Stranglethorn Vale) and take a look at the Troll ruins there, they also contain no wood at all
  3. The Troll tribes it's made for are those who are higher developed than the usual ones. It's like comparing the Native Americans, those in the U.S. and Canada had mainly tents and wood constructions while the Aztecs, Mayas and Incas had colossal, heavy stone-built temples and pyramids
  4. Furthermore, most of the temples and ruins in tropical regions of Azeroth belonged once to Trolls, and they all where similar to this Temple from close view
It is intentionally made like this. Yes, it would fit for Maya, Aztects, Incas or Nagas as well, but it's mainly made for Trolls.

Wow!!!
This is somehting really nice!!
Saving doodads!!!!

Thank you, dear friend :ogre_hurrhurr:

It is my friend, it is. But exactly as that, but its doable on world editor.

Naga Stair, Arc, and find a suitable wall, and you have that building. A little bit of pathing work and unit can walk inside.

:ogre_datass:
A 100% similar dublicate ain't makeable......the serpent columns on the entrance, the cloth on its backside and the masks don't exist as seperate pieces in WE. Don't worry, i wouldn't bother to make stuff that's 100% makeable in World Editor.

Oh, need a correction on my first post, its supposed to be

"But not exactly as that"

I know you won't make stuffs that can be done on world editor.

Hmm, too easily done in the world editor, even with pathing. I would never want to import this for the file size. Sorry, fester, you've gone back to the bad doodad days... :vw_sad:

1/5.

Please, turn around, before you get completely absorbed into the doodad-combining state of your past. Come back to the creative modeling!

Additionally, this doesn't really fit its purpose, its more of a naga thing... Troll places need a lot of wood, bone, and leather.

lol? I'd be curious to see how you make a 100% dublicate of it with ingame ressources in WE :vw_wtf: As said above, a 100% similar dublicate isn't makeable in WE. :vw_unimpressed: If you play WoW, have you ever seen the Troll ruins of STV (Stranglethorn Vale)? In either case, here are some screenies of Troll stonebuildings from WoW:
Picture 1, Picture 2.

The two "column" things in the front, and the little plate, are the only things that can't be done without imports. And even those are still rips. Since those are only a few kb's, it's not worth importing the rest as a 120 KB model. The rest can all be done in the editor. If you don't believe me, just ask, and I'll make a video doing it. You've uploaded very many models that you insist are not doable in the editor, but I've done all of them in the editor without imports, and often have even done a better job at them.

Also, this is Warcraft III, not World of Warcraft. Those sorts of buildings belong to the sunken ruins, and not things being build in-game by trolls. Troll buildings ought to a lot of wood, bone, and leather; that's how troll structures in Warcraft III are best identified.

Ruins wall, ruins obelisk, ruins column, ruins archway, naga stairs... Sure, the little columns in the front won't look EXACTLY the same, but they'd be similar enough. If anything, they could be imported as a few KB's, but no need for the other 120 KB's of in-game combinations.

I think it's clear it's not completely re-creatable. However, I have to admit some strong similarities (primarily to a row of Sunken Ruins arches) exist.

I think the bigger issue is what it's supposed to be for... It seems to be touted as a Jungle Troll thing (and I myself, creating a gameplay- & lore-compatible Jungle Troll faction, have struggled with which direction to take them thematically (i.e. primarily wood or stone architecture (which, not necessarily by choice but fortunately in my opinion, ended up as the former for me))), where I can see it as more of a tribal/jungle/temple/thing.

And, surprisingly, that's the name of the model, now that I think about it; it isn't technically 'labelled' as a Troll temple; just that all the tags & description are leaning that way.

So meh. One thing I have to commend, though, is your extensive descriptions. I really appreciate modellers who put some thought into the possible uses of their models; some great ideas come that way.

Lol, and what about the roof? :vw_wtf: Makeable/unmakeable things aside, it's a building, NOT a doodad. How do you want to create a building in the editor, that consists of more than one ingame model?

That it's WoW style and not Warcraft doesn't necessarely mean that it can't be used. Such differences don't prevent people from using them....

Yes, as a doodad it is makeable that way, but not as a unit-production building.

How do you want to create a building in the editor, that consists of more than one ingame model?

Well as a terrainer, we always love making structures that consist of many models since it gives as a challenge and we can design it the way we want.

Here is a sample of some buildings made of multiple doodads that i made for my map.

or something like this:

Actually, do you want me to give it a shot on making that model in the editor? It will not be 100% similar because I don't have those red thingy. But I can use some alternative.

Also I think you didn't understand me and Inferno because we're talking on a terrainer perspective while you're talking on a modeller perspective.

Wow! Your buildings look great! Do whatever you want, my friend. Well, i guess i should stop making doodas with doodad textures as they obviously aren't impossible to make ingames. :vw_sad: Anyways, TLI-Inferno was also a bit wrong about what that model is used for (it's a building and not a doodad). But let's nvm about that anymore....
