Taking models from dead games? .DRP

The game we're talking about is Darkness and Light. RIP 2008.
Is there any way to extract models from .DRP format (or any unknown format for that matter)?
The company went under and will never be seen again. I know its illegal to ask for models from other games, but is it ok if they are DEAD?
Attached is one such model file. In fact, I'm not even sure if its a model. Their game files is a mess. No wonder they shut down...

I think there aren't any programs who can convert this format to mdx.

So... what abandoned games could be converted? Could you convert the Warzone 2100 models into warcraft?

I managed to convert the SKIN but it somehow ain't workin. Help please...

The skins can be opened with irfranview, no others can.
And yeah I guess its abandonware but can be counted as fanart since I aint emulating/making money outta it.

I tried to wrap the skin around a model, it didn't turn out good. Must skins work with certain models only? Meaning I can't just slap any skin to any model?
