I figured that I should create a 'profile' of stories that are completed for future referances and so on when applying for a job or for whatever other reasons it may be. I am also interested in getting more feedback about them, so any comments of appreciation or criticism of what's good and bad is fine too. Just try not to be harsh!

Overview
For years, the government had a top secret experiment operation which dealt with forced evolution of the human race. The government pushed to make the human body and mind stronger in hopes of changing the world positively and giving the world a higher intelligence rate as well as physical fitness. Without mentioning this operation to anyone publicly - even other high-authority officials in other countries - the government decided to build their laboratories under an abandoned mental asylum. Shortly after the laboratory had been built, the government reopened the asylum for new and old mental patients to be experimented on. After a few months, scientists whom worked with the experiments found a way to make the governments' dream a reality and mental patients began to calm down and appear to be in a more normal or calm status. However, the attempts to alter the patients’ physical attributes had a null effect... or so the scientists thought.

Every mental patient in the asylum who had been experimented on was closely watched at all times: their blood pressure, breathing symptoms, and so on to make sure that their experiments had not negatively affected the being(s) and have the time to react quickly to reverse the effect. All seemed well until the patients began to show that they were not just becoming more calm, but their strength was decreasing and their heart-rate was also descending. By the time the scientists had realized that all of their patients were under this affect, it was too late to react to reverse it. The patients began to pass out unconscious. Unable to figure out what could have been the cause of this, the scientists collected three unconscious patients and checked them for what may've been the problem. Sure enough, they found what they were looking for. The patients' brains were swelled and must have been swelling over-time thus making the person more and more tired and weak, with the help of the reduced heart-rate which was another problem that couldn't be figured out either. At this point, the brains of the patients had become way too swollen and the scientists expected them all to die in a very short amount of time.

While the scientists studied their three experimental subjects, an unexpected power shortage occurred due to an unknown reason, however, the laboratory and asylum were backed-up with emergency power and kept the area dimly lit. The emergency power was not enough to keep the scientists' equipment active to continue their experiments, so two scientists were escorted to the power generators to re-enable the full power. The scientists who stayed behind kept a close eye on all of their test subjects (the patients) waiting to see how long it'd take for them to die or fall into a paranoid state due to the darkness and eerie atmosphere it projected. Since the security cameras were down, the scientists had to watch over the asylum through a bulletproof glass window. It was just barely light enough in the asylum to see or at least determine what each patient was doing. The lights went out again for about three minutes - and in that time the patients began to groan and scream psychotically - , but came back on afterwards, only to reveal that some of the asylum doors had been unlocked and/or opened. When the lights blared brightly again in the asylum, blood reflected off the glass of a patient's door. Something terrible had happened during those three minutes of darkness.

It turned out that the groaning and screaming was for good reason; the patients were being eaten alive by other patients, but due to their weakened status, they could not retaliate nor escape in the darkness. Some how the patients who had been negatively affected by the serum that had been used during the experiment had given them sight in darkness. This was unexplainable, even from the scientists. The science team waited a while for the riot guard and the two scientists who had gone to repair the power generators, but they did not return. It appears that the patients who exited their own cells either went into others to feed upon their inmates or to explore the rest of the asylum... and that can eventually lead them to the science team. Once this had been realized, the scientists did not hesitate to attempt to evacuate the asylum. However, in their attempt to evacuate, the entire asylum of cannibalizing mental patients had escaped and a number of security cameras were still down, thus revealing that only one fourth of the energy in the asylum had been renewed. In short, the science team was 'probably eaten alive and are now dead' according to what the government said. The government did not want these patients to escape the asylum as they would surely pose a serious threat to the public, so they kept the whole operation and failure of it a secret from nearly everyone they could keep it from to make sure people would not venture to the asylum stupidly for any reason at all, even though the asylum was located 'in the middle of nowhere' in South America.

A report was delivered to the government as highly confidential. It was a message from a scientist at the asylum. It stated that the main cause of this uprising of 'zombification' of the inmates was due to a mixture of the serum injected into the inmates and an airborne radioactive substance which infected the brain, causing it to swell and then following from the swelling would be the reduced heart-rate, which made the detection of this 'disease' much more difficult at first. What caused this radioactivity? A security guard reported that one of the generators that powered them all was damaged and caused the hazardous chemicals to spill out and be passive through the air from the air vents. The reason the inmates were so strongly affected to this was because almost all of them had the serum injected in them, thus making the effect stronger because of the hazardous mixture. People who are not injected with the serum are much more prone to the sickness than those with it, but still can be affected over time if exposed to enough radioactivity in the asylum.

Today was a day that has totally changed my life and its effects shall linger on within me forever from this day forth.

It was just like any other day at first. Everything was kept in order and there were no problems with the inmates. The science team was hard at work with concocting their experiment the right way and so far everything seemed to be going along just fine. But I soon realized that the behavior of the inmates - specifically the ones who had been experimented on - were much more calm and quiet: very unusual behavior for inmates in a psycho asylum. As I paid more closely attention to their behaviors, they seemed to be more than calm. They looked tired or maybe even sick. By the time I informed the science team, they had already taken notice to this, but didn't tell me why they acted strangely. The scientists weren't acting as usual either. They seemed more jittery and guilty of something, but I didn't pay much mind to it. Figured it was just the intense pressure from the government or the excitement of finding something like a breakthrough in the experimental operations they were running.

Since the science team looked like they had everything under control and knew what was going on, I continued my regular daily basis patrol shift in the halls. Then all of a sudden, the lights and just about everything went out! While the light was out, I froze. Eyes wide open as if shocked but trying to see something at the same time. Every sound I heard startled me. Funny how suddenly I became so paranoid. I was so paranoid, even the darkness played tricks on me with what I saw. Seeing dark figures lurk by and sounds of footsteps. But that's darkness for you. One big mind game. The emergency back-up power was initiated about three minutes later, but while in that deep darkness, it felt like three hours. With the light on again, my eyes had to adjust to the transition from dark to light. My vision was blurred, but I swore I saw someone walk by down the dimly lit-up hallway. I was still paranoid, but now it was really getting to me. My body started shaking from the adrenaline rush and I hurried towards the science lab to see if they had anything to do with the power surge.

On my way back to the science team, I stepped in puddles of something. It was still a little too dark to see what it was, surely it wasn't water since there were no water pipes in the area I was in. I looked down and tried to focus what it was. It smelled weird where I was... like death. That's when I came to realize I was standing in a puddle of blood, just next to a corpse of an inmate. Several questions rose up in my head right away. How did the inmate escape, how did he die, and why is there so much blood? Then I remembered that I had a flashlight with me! I suppose I had forgotten when in the pitch black darkness because of how petrified I was, but now, here it is. So I handled my flashlight from my belt and shined the light first on the bloody puddle I stood in, then saw a trail of blood from the puddle. I followed the trail with my flashlight and saw that it led to the corpse of the inmate... and what a corpse it was! His neck had been torn open, as well as his stomach and forearm. Blood was still gushing from his wounds indicating that it was a fresh kill.

I studied the wounds a bit closer and it looked like the killer did this with a fork or even perhaps had bitten this man to death. It looked very much like teeth marks in the forearm and the neck, but I strongly doubt the killer could also tear the stomach open as badly as it was with their teeth. It was almost hard to believe that this was done the way it was, but after all, this is a psychopathic asylum. I didn't know what to do with the body. So I continued towards the science lab at a faster pace. Finally, I had reached the doors to the science lab! It was unlocked, which was unusual. Most likely was due to the power surge we just had. I entered and was greeted by the science team which seemed pretty scared and shaken, more paranoid than before for sure. One of the scientists beckoned me to come over to him and look out the window which overlooked the asylum room where all the patients were held. Most of the doors were open and there was blood scattered around. One of the rooms looked covered in blood almost completely! I gasped in terror: the mental patients were loose!

One of the scientists, Greg Herman, explained to me that our current situation is dire and we must try to escape without allowing the inmates to escape. A crazy plan they had, but at this point, I could care less about the psychos who will try to kill us all. Why would they kill us? Well since we're their captors who kept them imprisoned, I doubt they'd spare our lives if they had to chance to take it away. Well... I'll continue this journal entry later. We're all beginning to make our way towards the entrance of the asylum to escape... to be continued!

I'm in here for killing my parents. Wasn't something I did because I'm some crazed bafoon, but because they tried to kill me. There's no proof of it and I didn't want to talk about it at the time. Was very quiet, especially when they questioned me. Was too much pressure for me after such an event in my life had happened by my own hands. So because there was no proof that I had a reason and because I was really quiet, they told me I was 'chemically imbalanced and mentally disgruntled', basically meaning that they thought I was a nut job that was crazy enough to belong in some mental asylum located in the middle of fucking nowhere. That's justice for you, I guess.

Every day in this place is pretty lonely. I mean, who wants to converse with crazy people? Can be fun at occasions, but in this place, it's just plain scary and weird, so I try to avoid confrontation both socially and physically with the other inmates. Although life in here is really lonely, this past week had to be one of the loneliest days ever in here. All the inmates are quiet and not doing anything entertaining to watch. They haven't been urinating on each other or messing with the guards lately: something I find funny to watch. So not only are these people incapable of communicating with, but also aren't even interesting to look at anymore...

Part Two of Entry
Something is up with this place! All of a sudden the lights began to flicker and then went out instantly, leaving me and the rest of the asylum in total darkness. I couldn't see a damned thing, but I followed the wall until I got to the entrance door to the patient dorm. Once I got to the door, I checked it if it was open. It was. The power had to of been out completely since the doors that were once locked are now... not. And in an asylum like this one, I don't think it was intentional. As I opened the door, I heard some of the crazy people screaming and crying out in terror. Another day in wacko-ville! I walked through the doorway and edged around the walls to get to where ever without bumping into anything. A few minutes after the lights were out, they turned back on, but much less brighter than before. I found myself standing in some hallway and noticed a security guard walking down the hall. He looked very confused. Without much hesitation, I opened a door closest to me in the hallway and hid there. A dim red light lit up the room. From what I could find in the room, it was a work-in-progress storage room or something... someone was renovating this place and haven't finished the job. While things were still a bit hectic, I hid in the room for things to calm down, which might be a while...

Overview

August 22nd, year 3015. The PSI (Photonic Science Investigators) had been secretly experimenting with time travel since year 2020 in a large laboratory nestled deep within the crust of the earth. But finally the PSI discovered something that was a major breakthrough for their studies. Professor Simon Garwell proposed an elaborate theory that time travel could only be done by entering other world dimensions and activating the time transporting device while inside of the new dimension. After this discovery by Simon, the PSI became very anxious to put this theory to the test.

Almost immediately, the PSI called their Experimental Tester in, Xavier Thompson, to enter the new world dimension to test the time traveling device, as this theory made enough sense to actually be successful.

The PSI had planned to send him into the Medieval age. They could not set a specific time or date for there was a high risk of failing at doing so. They predicted that since the time travel was being done through another dimension, odd creatures which have never been seen before may be present in the time Xavier was going into. Due to this theory, they took precautions and prepared Xavier with assault weapons and equipment which would aid well against any hostilities in the age he was going to enter.

Hours later after preparing himself (Xavier) for his journey back in time in a whole new dimension, Xavier entered a space traveling Battle Cruiser to protect himself from time lapse disintegration which can occur when time traveling at high speeds and vast ages. The Battle Cruiser was designed to sustain heavy damages and strong impact. Because of this, the PSI considered it to be the best choice to send Xavier in.

He entered the new dimension while piloting the Battle Cruiser and the device was enabled. Almost instantly, the device's action was effective and successful -- Xavier traveled through time! Contact with Xavier through his Biosuit was also working amazingly and they could still assist him with advice and other guidance. But what Xavier was going to go through was hardly just beginning.

The Battle Cruiser ended up losing control shortly after the travel and was sucked into the earth's gravitational pull. The ship's engines gave out from trying to fight the pull and the ship plunged into the earth's surface in a forest, resulting in a heaping dark cloud of smoke.

Xavier survived the crash, thanks to the strong design and structure of the ship, and managed to escape the crash-site before he it was too late. This is where his real journey begins...

Backgrounds Of The New World

The world of Bolkan has several continents and islands which are scattered across the ocean. The largest continent, Bolkan, was the most densely vegetated land filled with forests, jungles, and large grassy plains. The land was ruled by a few empires which strived to conquer each other. Bolkan was home to four great races which ruled the land.

The four great races which prevailed above all others were known as the Orcs (Otherwise known as the Brutile), Humans, Galluns, and the Eracoi. The other races were considered a minority due to their lack of civility, technology, and government. The primitive minor races either governed themselves or a small pack or village.

Orcs were the fiercest and most savage race on the entire continent and are well known for this and their violent behavior. They waged war all over the planet and intended to bring extinction to the Humans for their unfair looks upon the Brutile nation. Constantly, the two races battle against each other in a war that has still never ended.
Orcs aren't very organized. They build bases and fortresses all over the world to serve as battlements and believe that it will turn the tides of war against the Humans. They attack in small groups of four to ten, but when finally going through with their plans to attack, they tend to launch an almost full-scale assault on their target, usually guaranteeing the Brutile victory. The economy is primarily based on whatever they pillage from hostile towns and cities.
Thus, the war has become a positive effect upon their economy and population.

Humans are only settled on Bolkan. They've become a very defensive nation and isolate their people within their territory due to the constant attacks from the Brutile. Economy is based strongly on trade, farms, and crops. However, the Brutile often ambush the trade routes and affecting the Human economy negatively. There are a few human countries which run themselves seperately. Some are even hostile towards each other. Most of the Human nations, though, ended up signing a peace treaty with others to form an alliance between them to help defeat the orcs.

The Eracoi is a humanoid race which resembles the Human race very much. Eracoi men are taller than Human men and also have pointier ears. The hair style is commonly long straight hair, usually blonde. Eracois may be the most civilized and well behaved race on the entire planet. They have very few settlements, however, the majority of them are large and majestic. Their capitol city, Eracor, is the largest city in the entire world and is well defended by royal and elite guards of great skill. The Eracoi keeps their vast armies within their cities to help keep order and to prevent anyone unauthorized from leaving the area without given permission from the guards or of higher authority.
The Eracoi have several small groups of marksmen (bowmen) patrolling the outskirts of their cities to ensure that no armies are engaging the perimeter.
The Eracoi and Humans have signed a peace treaty for trading benefits. However, the Eracoi have secretly developed a plan to break the treaty and invade Human society from all sides. The humans do not know this. The only thing that is currently keeping the two safely tied and still allies is for the protection from Brutile attacks.

Galluns are a murky type of humanoid. Their skin is dried and wrinkled, their faces are stretched, and have poor back structures. Their legs are bent back and their hands and feet are swelled. They are a primitive race which once strived for hundreds of generations. Their magical essence was much stronger then as well. But after they had their Tome of Gallunas stolen from the Eracoi and many of their cities and villages were pillaged by Humans, they sought revenge and slaughtered whom ever came across their path. One instance, the Gallun army had marched into a Human town of defenseless citizens and burned them all alive, along with a few other villages as well. For this, they are now sworn enemies with the Human race. The Eracoi is also their enemy for stealing the sacred tome of the Galluns. Galluns have been under a lot of war pressure and suffered from many harsh battles. Due to this, the Galluns had been forced to flee into the dark forests and caverns to seek further refuge. With little technology (Both military technology and economical) the Galluns are on the brink of survival and have withdrawn from the war, publicly at least.
The Galluns respect the Brutile army's strength. They believe that their immense armies and open war tactics are very strategic and a way to keep the Eracoi and especially the Humans at bay. Not too long after the fleeing of the Galluns, they had signed an alliance treaty with the Brutile to recieve protection from hostile attacks, while in return, they must help provide food for the Brutile society. With the protection of the great Brutile nation, they have been able to regroup with their people and rebuild their cities and army. Once this news reached the Eracoi and Humans, they tried to strike the main Gallun city to cause them to flee once again, however, they had failed to do so because of the Brutile army ambushing them in attempting to attack.

Now there are two major alliances at war. Currently a stalemate, but slowly being in favor of the Brutile and Galluns because of their constant ambushes and attacks upon their enemies. The Eracois are beginning to devise a plan to blind spot the Brutile and Gallun cities, as the Human territory is the Brutile and Gallun's primary target and is where their attention is drawn towards.
By this time, the two alliances had given themselves names. The alliance of the Brutile and Gallun was labeled the "Rebels" by the Humans and Eracoi, while the Eracoi and Human alliance was labeled "Impirial Alliance" by the Brutiles and Galluns.

As these two alliances had waged wars against each other, a new champion was brought to the planet's surface. This champion went by the name as Xavier Thompson, but his rivals refered to him as "X". X fell from the sky in a shuttle which was engulfed in flames and smoke and landed in a forested area a few miles away from the Gallun city. The columns of smoke which towered into the sky signaled the Gallun scouts that something was there. When a scout arrived at the scene, they had discovered X's body on the ground nearby the crash-site of his shuttle. The Gallun scout retrieved a wooden cart of hay and tied the man onto it to keep him from retaliating and wheeled the cart back to the city. There, they examined X and wondered if he was a part of the Imperial Alliance or if he was a god. His biosuit (What they believed to be his epic suit of armor) hinted to them that he was indeed a god and worshipped him and provided hospitality.

Time Traveling

Xavier (Otherwise known as X) boarded the large battle cruiser eagerly, knowing that he'd be the first to travel through time. He walked down a long dark yet partially lit hall of rusted steel and iron. Thick black tubes hung from the ceiling and across the walk way. Xavier stepped over the tubes as he walked down the hall and his footsteps where heavy and thumped loudly on the iron platform and it echoed against the walls. When nearly at the end of the hall, a bright white light turned on at the end of the hall where he almost stood at and a large heavy door became visible. Xavier paused for a moment, then continued furthermore towards the door while squinting from the brightly lit light.

The door automatically openned vertically, making a winding cranking sound that rumbled the hall, and Xavier walked into the room beyond the door. It was nearly pitch black. All lights suddenly flickered off the room stayed black for a moment. Seconds later, all ceiling lights turned on in a slow fade. Xavier looked around while standing still near the doorway which he had recently entered to monitor what was in the room and study what was what. He walked around the room to get himself familiar with some of the things in the ship, then noticed an open doorway. As he engaged this one, the other doorway which he had entered finally automatically closed and white steam hissed out of the sides of the door.

In the new room Xavier was in, a big chair with controls panels around it stood attached to an elevated platform under it. It was the cockpit. He walked up to the chair, sat in the seat, and studied the controls carefully, then he flicked a few black switches on the control pad and all lights in the ship turned on and the cockpit window began turning transparent, allowing Xavier to view what was ahead of his ship. He peered out the window while still seated and searched for his queue to start the ship's engines. A green light turned on outside of the ship in the docking bay and Xavier pulled a lever on the control pad towards him. As he did this, a graphic bar that was orange and red went higher and higher on his control pad to the left side and the ship began to rumble louder and louder. The ship shook from the power of the engines and pretty soon the ship began to lift from its position into the air.

Hovering above the ground now and dust particles from under the ship and everywhere else in the room blowing outwards from the ship's position, the ship hovered higher and higher until it became in contact with the roof of the docking bay. Xavier waited for the dimension to open in order to proceed further.

The green light in the docking bay started to glow purple brightly and a black portal opened up in front of the ship. It fizzed and sizzled materials around it as gases eroded around the portal. Xavier pushed in a blue button on his control pad and the exterior of the ship was shrouded with electricity and a partially visible blue shield faded on and off on the ship. A loud buzzing noise was being projected from the misty portal. Without further hesitation, Xavier grabbed ahold the steering contraction and the ship blazed forward in super-sonic speed. Just after the ship entered the portal, it dissipated as the noises it made echoed the room one last time.

Just as the ship entered the portal, Xavier's head and body was rocked back with tremendous force and a loud whirling noise occurred and the ship shook uncontrollably hard with vibration. Xavier kept his eyes closed and held tightly onto his chair during this episode of intensity. But after a minute of this, the noises calmed down and the vibrations became hardly noticeable. The ship had finally entered the dimension safely and traveled through time.

Earth was in sight and Xavier headed towards it. He tried to maneuver around space debris, but the earth had been using some sort of magnetic pull effect on the ship and it was pulling the ship slightly faster and faster over time towards the earth. The ship had gotten to the O-Zone layer and the cockpit window was very blurry from the space dust it had ran through. Xavier lost total control of the ship and a red light began blinking and making an alarming beeping sound. Something was going wrong and Xavier knew it, but he couldn't slow the speed of the ship down at all and he couldn't even control the direction of where the ship was going. Xavier panicked, for he believed this would be the last of his days alive.

The ship passed through the O-Zone layer and the ship's engines then gave out and all energy in the ship was lost. It fell limply through the sky and plunged into a woodland area (Forest). The impact of the crash destroyed a series of trees and knocked Xavier unconscious. About an hour or two later, he awoke, still in his ship and in his chair. Thanks to the well designed protective structure of the ship, Xavier survived with only minor injuries of bruises and scratches.

Xavier hit the eject button, popped out of the ship and safely landed on the ground. Xavier removed the parachute and rubbed his forehead. He was amazed to be alive and in such stable condition, but he was tired from the intense anxiety and events that had just occurred in his life. He ended up passing out nearby the crash site not too long afterwards.

Then he awoke on a soft hay pile on a wooden cart. He starred at the sky and noticed he was moving- the cart was moving. Xavier looked ahead of the cart and saw an awkward creature pulling the cart. It had deformed hands, legs, and feet. Its skin was wrinkled and definitely looked like it was well aged.

Xavier attempted to get up, but then noticed his wrists and ankles were tied securely to the cart with rope and disallowed him to escape. Being unable to move his body since he was bound, he settled with going where ever this creature was taking him- though he felt that something bad was going to happen to him. He wasn't sure if this was a rescue or if it was a harvest...

Background Story

All over the world, countries transport their nuclear waste to Russia for them to store in Siberia; this is how Russia makes a lot of its income. However, for quite a while, instead of storing the nuclear wastes in Siberia, Russia decided to recycle the nuclear waste. Amazingly, they found out how to do it and began to build biological and nuclear weapons to support their military.

More and more the governing over Russia turned into more of a dictatorship and focused strongly on their military strength and defenses within Russia. It took a while before outside countries found out about this new scheme the Russians had been putting in action and every one knew that something was up.

The United States of America (Being the World Power country and a part of the United Nations and NATO) decided to take action and request the Russians to put a halt to their nuclear and biological weaponry production. The Russians refused and in spite of the United States ordering the Russian people to stop what they were doing, they launched a series of missiles towards Finland, Sweden, and Norway. It was obvious at this point that the Russian Federation had plans to conquer their neighbors, starting from the north.

Without hesitation, the United States of America declared war on the Russia and started transporting troops to Europe in a full-scale assault to eliminate the nuclear silos and other missle camps. The United States army landed on France and the United Kingdom and moved their way up towards Russia in very large numbers. While the assault was closing in on Russia from the southwestern part of Russia, the United States issued five groups of Snipers to steathfully enter Russia and station themselves near suspected Russian military roadways; their objective was to pick off enemy convoys on-sight.

Because of the full-scale assault on Russia from almost all sides, the assault had punched holes in Russia's defensive lines and made it much easier for the Snipers to sneak into enemy territory. The Russian border defenses were very weak and Russia was focusing more on offense than defense.

As the assault forces of the United States moved into Russia, the Russian Federation did not find out that the United States military was in their country until several hours after the United States had arrived, giving the United States a good head-start. The Russians were so focused on producing their nuclear warheads and building an even greater army that they did not bother to think that the United States (Along with some other minor countries) would move into their country on the offensive.

The United States assault teams were divided and began to form bases in Russian territory. The Russians took this as an insult and ordered their armies to destroy the new bases which the Americans had built.

Around March 12, 2012, the war got even more serious and the Russian Federation launched two more missiles at Romania and Austria; the missile headed for Austria was destroyed in flight with the help of space satellites. Many European countries agreed to attack Russia with full force. In the process of this, many Russian towns were raided and one out of the four nuclear silos were captured by the United States of America. The United States was tempted to launch a nuclear missile towards Russia, but believed that it was too much to sacrifice due to their own soldiers being in there already, along with friendly European military. Because of this, the nuclear strike from the United States and other countries was called off.

Two days after the mass assault, a suprise attack from the Russian Federation arrived behind the United States forces and effectively took over Romania as a Russian defensive position/rally point. The United States army and other European armies that were moving in from the West and the Southwestern areas were baffled and took a lot of losses from the back. The ambush from the Russians came through their friendly nations, Ukraine and Bulgaria.

The world was devastated and mass destruction was about to be unleashed on Russia, for almost every country in the world began to despise the corrupt Russian Federation. The losing European factions returned to their home countries to provide a stronger defense against other possible invasions and the rest of the European forces that had been moving in or had already were inside of Russia stationed themselves alongside the Russian borders to ensure that no other nuclear waste or anything else was transported in or out of Russia. At this point, the United States of America was the only country that had been moving in more and more. The bases that were established in Russia from the Americans were now a safe-house and rally point for many friendly soldiers. This is the beginning of Modern Warfare!

Ethan Waters' Journal

Date: Monday, March 12, 2012
Time: 15:12
Location: 80km west of Moskva, Russia
Personnel: Ethan Waters (U.S. Sniper)

Because of the war started by a bunch of Russian pyromaniacs, the army has sent me to Russia to quietly keep watch over a road suspected of Russian military activity. My objective is to stop whatever hostiles spotted on the road with deadly force.

I've been stationed about 80 to 90 kilometers west of Moskva, Russia in an abandoned brick building; an apartment building which seems to be closed down for a scheduled demolition in a week from now. The weather has been rainy all day yesterday and today. The good side of this though is that the clouds cover up a lot of the sun and provide a lot of dark areas for me to deploy and and wait quietly in.

About 70% of the time I wait in the building's second floor Southeast window and keep a look-out over the roads for any hostile convoys; in this case, Russian convoys. Today, I've spotted two hostile convoys. One of which was being escorted by a Russian T-80 tank. I also noticed that there was a Gunship hovering high above the convoy as well and was most likely helping with the escort. The convoy was way too heavily defended for me to successfully stop it completely without dying in the process.

As for the other convoy, it was a small jeep with two men in it that drove rather slowly as if in search for something. There was a man jogging behind the jeep with an AK-47 assault rifle in hand. His facial expression hinted that he was tired and somewhat suspicious of something. This raised my suspicion that they might've known that someone -- such as myself -- had been in the area scoping the area.

I poked my sniper rifle out of the window just enough so about an inch or so of the nozzle stuck out. I adjusted myself into a more comfortable and stable position and aimed through the scope at the man jogging behind the jeep since he was already armed. The convoy moved very slowly, so it wasn't hard at all for me to aim at the head of the the first man. I pulled the trigger and the muzzle silently popped a bullet out and into the soldier's head, making his head jerk back and blood shot out the front and back of his head -- but mostly from the back of his head. -- creating a bloody haze that blew in the air as brain matter fell out onto the ground and onto himself. An easy and silent kill it was.

The driver and the passenger of the vehicle didn't hear the shot of my silenced rifle nor did they even notice the collapsed body of their bleeding escort. I didn't hesitate to aim at the driver of the vehicle next, for now was my chance to get a head start before they noticed the corpse behind them and begin to panic. The driver was still driving very slowly, I suppose so their now non-existant escort could keep up, making it easy again to cap another in the head. Once again, I pulled the trigger and the bullet whizzed directly between the eyes of the driver, making his head swing to the side violently in a bloody mess and made the jeep swerve. This scared the hell out of the passenger and he gripped the steering wheel to make the jeep stay steady on the road.

The passenger tried to reach for the gas pedal, but failed and slammed the brakes accidentally, making his head bang into the dashboard. I guess he figured he was screwed if he sat in the vehicle, which would explain why he jumped out and began to sprint back down the road from where he came. I aimed at his lower back since his head kept moving around and fired my third shot. The bullet pierced his lower left part of his back, a bit above his waist, and he fell down onto one knee as he continued to try to escape by limping in pain and fear down the road. I figured I had hit his kidney since he looked like he was out of breath. I took my time and aimed at him again. I wasn't really aiming for any specific organs or body parts this time since he had lost a lot of blood from the previous shot. I thought that two shots ought to do the trick.

As I readjusted myself and prepared to take aim at my target again, the man laid down, rolled over while lying on one leg and pulled out a pistol from the inside of his Russian Army jacket. I was astonished that he'd try to pick off a Sniper with a pistol, so I let him bleed a bit more and fire his pistol in random directions frantically as I also aimed through my scope and tried to get the crosshair as perfectly dead-on his head as possible. While I was aiming calmly and taking my time in doing so, the wounded man shot two fires towards the building I was in and one of the bullets hit the window which I was aiming through. Luckily, the shot was aimed way too high to even hit my in the head even if I was standing. I wasn't sure if he knew that I was hiding in the building or not, but I took no chances as another bullet hit the building which I was nestled in.

I pulled the trigger one last time and the bullet hit him in the neck. The force was strong enough to decapitate the body, sending the head in flight with blood raining from the wound of the neck and head everywhere. The body fell back and blood poured constantly out of the body, creating a pretty large pool of blood around the body where the wound was. The head hit the ground and rolled down an inclined hill on the side of the road, leaving little bloody tracks behind it in its path.

The two dead corpses in the road and the abandoned vehicle with a dead body and a bloody windshield occupying it was very noticeable. For about ten minutes, I thought about finding another hiding spot. I was worried if any other convoys passing would be alarmed and would raise the alarm in the area which I was in, but I was hidden well in a dark abandoned residential building with pretty good cover; I had finally come to my senses that I'd be alright and my job wasn't over... However, today was a job well-done!

Age of Chivalry

I stood on a plateau in a close line formation with my armored comrades. We stood clad in heavy plated armor that gleamed in the dawn’s orange sun that peaked over the rolling hills in the distance. The grass was green, but looked golden wherever the light from the sun had touched. The skies were rather clear and a cool breeze blew every now and then that felt rejuvenating for only a moment – I was so hot and sweaty from being encased in this heavy steel plated cage, the cool air was enough to temporarily relieve me. Everyone in the frontlines of the army had their weapons sheathed securely. I tightly held the hilt of my short sword and waited for the battle horn to be blown – that was the signal for us to advance. Most of the soldiers were looking straight ahead at our enemy’s army.

I also starred ahead. The light from the sun brightly stung my eyes, forcing me to squint. Our opponent’s army looked like a wall of darkness due to the contrast from the sun. In some areas of this black army I could see light reflecting off of their weapons and armor. It looked like there was a lot of them, but I don’t doubt that we will gain victory. That’s the key in fighting, self-confidence and confidence in your mates. It gives you a sense of courage and inspiration to fight and win. Though, I had good reason to feel this way as well. In the very back of our army’s formation, engineers had built and setup catapults and ballistas to help crush the enemy. According to a friend of mine whom I met in this war which I’ve been serving in for almost a year now, the catapults will be the first to initiate the attack, followed by archers who will rain arrows upon the ranks of the enemy.

To my left, I saw my friend Richard Edlingson, standing beside me also clad in heavy clanking plate mail armor. He looked either very anxious or very nervous. I could see his hand holding the hilt of his sword tightly and his kite shield close to him. I looked to my right and there stood my other friend, Brak Arlas. From my experiences in battle with him, he is a ferocious fighter with a menacing attitude. Sometimes I really am convinced that he is crazy. However, our people can use a warmongering blood-driven fighter such as Brak. His facial expression showed that he was anxious and excited about this fight. His attitude towards our current situation that will involve death strangely brought a smile to my face.

Behind me I noticed a light armored soldier mounted on a horse galloping by with a blue and yellow flag with a sword symbol centered in it. It was the signal for all soldiers to get ready… the horn was about to be blown. All the soldiers took notice of the flag and withdrew their weapons, as did I. Catapults were being readied and loaded with large boulders. A couple of them were soaked in black oil and then lit on fire. Finally, the word was given to launch the actual first stage of the attack.

Fire!

With tremendous force and speed, the arm of each catapult sprung forth, launching the projectiles held within a bowl-shaped hand that was attached to the arm. The boulders flew over us and towards the enemy with great speed. One of the boulders that flew over me was embalmed in an ember that lit the troops more than the sun did. It hissed and crackled as it flew by. Then they all it the ground, making a loud thumping noise. A few of the projectiles had hit the enemy frontlines, pummeling them into the ground. I couldn’t see much of the army, but I could see enough that the catapults were doing their job well enough. And again, the words for the attack were spoken.

Fire!

A second barrage of boulders and flaming projectiles were hurled at the enemy once more. Every catapult made a sound that hinted that the rope and wood of the machine was being strained. I could hear the rope tightening right before the launch, and then let loose when the catapult fires.

I watched the black stones of fire fly through the air in awe and amazement. It seemed as if time slowed down as I watched. Just the very sight of the flaming boulder brought comfort to me. In fact, it made me very relaxed. Then the boulder landed on a group of soldiers whom were in a tight formation and the loud thump brought me back to my senses. I could hear the men in the distance screaming in pain and agony, while the others that had not been hit cheered and taunted against us. It was almost as if they liked the bombardment more than we did!

Another horse rider rode behind us while holding a large blue and yellow banner with a symbol of two arrows crossing each other. As he rode by, the archers behind me pulled an arrow from their quivers which were on their back and readied their bow and arrow, pulling the string far back and placing the very end of their arrow by their fingertips of their right hand, letting the tip of the arrow rest over their left hand and against the bow. I studied each archer carefully. They had hardly any armor on at all. They just wore a leather cowl, a tabard, and cloth clothing just about everywhere else. Looking at their face, I could tell they were very concentrated on what they were doing. They all arched their back backwards and aimed their arrows towards the sky in a diagonal angle. Then the words were shouted by our general.

Volley!

Almost instantaneously after the words were spoken, the archers released their grip of the arrow with their right hand and let the string launch the arrows high in the sky. It looked like they went nearly a hundred feet high! Like a swarm of locusts, the arrows flew over us while making a whistling noise. Nearly all arrows fell into the ranks of the enemy. I could see many of the shaded figures fall, their army was being reduced in size. More shrieks of pain were let out as each arrow fell into the black army. And again, the words were spoken once more.

Volley!

The archers had already reloaded quickly after their first launch. Now with the orders to shoot their arrows in the air and into the enemy, they each did as they had before and let go of the arrow, letting the arrow soar through the air elegantly. Half-way to the army, hundreds of feet in the air, the arrows started falling arched into their direction. They fell limply at first, but as the arrows picked up speed, they started to straighten themselves and fall down like a meteor and piercing their targets with great force. Despite the long distance between our army and theirs, I could still hear the arrows piercing their armor and flesh. It was disturbing, but also exillerating at the same time. My blood began to rush with adrenaline. I knew that the melee soldiers, including myself, would be given the order to charge at the enemy next.

I looked back at our general who sat on his horse several yards behind me. He was encased in steel plate mail armor and wore a helmet with a visor over it. I stared at him in his eyes and he glanced at me, then looked back towards the enemy and closed his visor and gave a hand signal. Yet another rider rode by. This time he was in front of us and carried a banner with two swords crossing each other. It was our signal to get ready to begin the charge to begin the actual fighting. I had left my helmet by my feet to absorb the cool breezes around my face and the back of my neck. This was, after all, a very hot suit to wear and its heaviness didn’t make the cooling down process any easier. I crouched down, picked up my helmet, and fit it onto my head.

The sounds of the wind howled momentarily as I put it on, but it calmed when the helmet was on. Out of all the sounds I could hear the loudest, including our men cheering, chanting, and the general barking orders, was my breathing. I breathed heavily despite my anxiety and the stifling air within the helmet that I had to deal with. Every noise I made, whether it be breathing, sniffling, or talking, echoed in my helmet and it was like I was in my own world. My own dimension. But after coming back to reality, moments after I securely set my helmet on my head, I withdrew my sword and looked forward. I had only a horizontal slit to see through. It wasn’t a big slit, but it wasn’t tiny either. At least it kept the damned sun out of my eyes better.

Blocking the sun from entering my eyes, I could see the opposing army much better now. They wore variations of armor types. The majority of them wore black and red, but a good number of them that stood at the very front of the army worse iron or steel armor with helmets on that had devilish horns. They looked intimidating, especially after taking in account that they seemed excited to get the chance to fight us up close. I’ve fought in many battles, but this one had me worrying. For the first time in a long time, I was scarred to fight. Reminding myself that fear and poor self-confidence can be your worst enemy, I regained my wits and tried to maintain a positive attitude while our general paced back and forth in front of us, roaring morale boosting words, trying to get us all pumped and confident about the battle that will soon be at hand. I didn’t hear a word he was saying. I was too busy focusing on keeping myself witty and strong as I glared at the enemy soldiers.

During the whole speech the general had just given, I only took notice when our army cheered and roared at the general’s words. After the third cheer I heard, the general screamed while pointing toward the enemy with his sword, “And by god, we shall show them hell and give it right to them!” The crowd of armed men cheered one last time before our general ordered his final order to begin.

Charge!

In huge armored masses, our entire army pressed forward at a jogging pace while roaring. I could see the enemy doing the same. The sound of armor clanking and moving around and the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the fields. As we got closer to the enemy, our pace increased. Soon enough, we found ourselves running at full speed with our weapons in hand. Strangely enough, after running across half the field encased in heavy plate mail armor, I was not exhausted nor was I out of breath. The adrenaline rush was paying off and was only getting stronger as we got closer and closer to our opponents. Alas, the clash of battle.

We fell upon them like an ocean, crashing down on them. Our army slammed into theirs with great force and the Mason Order – our opponent – had shown their strength as well. Ultimately, we were winning. Once their frontlines were broken, more of our army poured within the enemy ranks, slaying all who got in their way. A soldier wearing armor made of crude iron, stained with blood already, came charging at me with an axe like a raging bull; his horned helm almost convinced me. At first, I was intimidated and hesitated to retaliate, but out of pure reflex, when he got close enough, I thrust my sword into his breastplate, piercing his heart. He looked into my eyes in agony as he gargled his own blood. I put my foot on his shoulder, applying pressure as I eased my sword from his chest. I kicked him as I pulled the sword to reclaim my sword quicker, noticing another frantic warrior making his way towards me.

He had an arrow in the side of his leg, forcing him to limp painfully. He looked onward with a hateful facial expression. He raised his sword, showing weakness, and I swung my sword at him, slashing his head clean off his shoulders and into the fray of fighting men. The blood burst out in a red mist and sprayed my armor as his body limply fell to the ground. More blood oozed out from the impact of his body hitting the ground. I turned swiftly to my right with my shield up to the sound of a man screaming chaotically in my direction. It got louder and louder. Before I could do anything, the man brought his mighty axe down upon me. Luckily, I had my shield up and strong. The blow from the axe was quite tiresome for the both of us. It felt like he put a lot of effort and strength into his heavy blow. Then I noticed his axe was slightly embedded in my shield. Failing to pull it out because he put all of his endurance into his attack, I pushed forward, causing the axe wielder to lose his balance and focus and I struck his side with my sword. Tearing through is leather garments and his flesh as he screamed, I struck his side again and again. Eventually, after the fifth slice, he lost his grip of the axe and fell down in a bloody mess.

I looked down at him and saw that much of the grass under my feet was stained red. Grass and dirt everywhere was stained with blood. I looked back up and at the fighting crowd and saw that our army was winning greatly. Still, there was much of the enemy still left on the field who were fighting proudly against us, even after realizing the odds against them. Usually an army would retreat by now, yet these people stood their ground and continued to fight us. I respected their courage. Ahead of me and a few of my comrades were a group of black and red armored soldiers with a tall armored knight between them who wore a horned helm. As I stepped over the corpses and pushed my way toward the group, the horned helmet knight took off his helmet and smashed it against another man’s face, horns first. The horns crushed the man’s skull and broke the skin quickly, killing him almost instantly. Blood and brains oozed out of his crushed face and the knight withdrew a wavy jagged sword and continued to fight our army. Seeing all this was so devastating that I had paused for a moment in disbelief. This man was making the end of this battle his hour to shine.

His efforts were exceeding his own comrades’. He was like a one man army, slaying anyone that stood against him. Swiftly with great power, he chopped, slashed, and thrust his sword at his foes without any hints exhaust. I was baffled. Turning around to see how much of us were still behind fighting, I took sight of Brak Arlas running with his weapon drawn and bloody. He let out a sinister laugh as he trampled over corpses to get to the hostile knight.

“Let me at him!” Brak demanded as he pushed his way through our comrades to get to the knight, “Let me at him!”

Finally getting through, Brak and the knight clashed swords. Brak was the first to actually block and counter the knight’s attacks. The knight looked impressed and kicked Brak in the stomach with the pointy tip of his armored foot. Brak let out a brief scream and the knight stuck his spiked sword into the grisly man’s shoulder, then bending his sword in an angle that would force the tip of the sword from the inside towards Brak’s neck. It was painful to watch one of my best friends die, at least he died to a warrior with such prowess. Now in rage, I moved forward and tried to overwhelm the knight myself.

I pushed through the crowd and lunged at the knight with a roar. Catching him by surprise, he turned quickly trying to block my initial attack and counter it. My sword came across his, making a loud clashing noise of the two pieces of steel hitting together. We both withdrew backward and I attempted to tackle him with my shield pressed forward. I bumped the knight back and it caused him to trip over Brak’s dead body. Without any hesitation, I lifted my sword and stabbed the knight in the chest. He clinched his teeth together and cringed at the pain while tightly closing his eyes due to the pain of the stab. Seconds later, he died and our army carried out annihilating the rest of the army. Oddly enough, the enemy decided to retreat after the knight was dead.

We did not want the enemy to get away. Before the soldiers could get too far away, volleys of arrows were fired at the fleeing enemies, killing them on impact. I looked around me with my sword and shield still held tightly, only to find myself standing in a field of brutally beaten, bloody corpses. I saw our victory flag banner raise and wave in the air; the day had been won in favor of the Agathia Knights!

I understand exactly what you mean. And I kind of tried to do that a bit, but then I figured that it sounded like I wanted to use 'big words' throughout the story too much so I settled with a decent amount of vivid wording.

The two stories (X-Factor and Modern Warfare) were both written for currently active and existing Warcraft III mods. X-Factor is a WIP First Person Shooter campaign being developed by the Reinventing the Craft guys and me. Modern Warfare is a story to help back up Illidan(evil)X's RTS mod for Warcraft III, Modern Warfare.

X-Factor still needs quite a bit of polishing, especially the overview, and I am well aware of it. Not sure when I will get to it, since my schedule is a bit more cluttered, but hopefully sometime before next weekend or during that time.

Glad you thought it was good though!

Three New Stories!

I've updated the first post with three new stories for Windexglow's zombie projectthat was unnamed and the storylines ended up being rejected. The first story is a storyline overview of the Zompocalypse situation, the second is a diary enty by an Asylum security guard named Freddy Cobbs, the third is a diary enty is a diary enty by an Asylum inmate. I decided to name the story "Zompocalypse" since it was intended for a zombie map/mod. I'm planning on writing another story. Not sure what it will be about nor what it'll be for though.

Hope you like the new stories!

{update}

Added a new story in the first post called "Age of Chivalry" inspired by and based upon the Half-Life 2 mod, Age of Chivalry.

The story is about an armored medieval soldier of the Agathia Knights who is preparing himself to engage the enemy army alongside his comrades in a battle for victory.

Thank you. There was another guy from the Age of Chivalry Steam Mod community forums that contacted me on behalf of the Age of Chivalry story I wrote and wanted me to make a storyline for his 'Machinima' movie. So that's what my next story project will be.
