I was interested in making that spell before but i think i should it now only if it is made realistic, i mean the way it should really be.

It is easy for the base- Fire bolt. But here comes the special part which really determines should i make it or not:

How to make the (Ev response-target unit of ability being cast) become colourless in other words- not transparent but in black, white and grey colours as stoned. Is there a way- tell me everything i need and is it possible at all? ??????

You would probably have to get the same model but different skin. Request this in the 'Request Forum'.

PS just an after thought you might have to make an animation that stands still, not sure on that one, but that will require model editing.

As Daelin said i need a model on every single unit which is kind of impossible especially for exporting this spell. Avatar only enlarges the unit but doesn't make it grey. I'll give up with this spell unless i ever request somebody to make 100+++ models. Hardly.

you can always change the unit to black. OR you could change the spell to a prison of stones instead

Blizzard should make it possible to add any kind of tinting ie have a boolean field "apply tint" then the three feilds for tints (RGB) would be right beneath it and you would be able to apply to the model white through to grey to black, as well as all the other colours.

Indeed, they should, at least with triggers. I'll make them semi-black i guess. One small question: do i have to restore their original colours after the spell finishes by setting their colours to 255? Or what other way to disable the colours after it finishes?

I would disable it the same way you set it up. If you changed the colour using three tint values then set them back to 255 to get the normal colours.

That what I understood is you want to change coloring of unit when it casts an ability, yes? :p

OK, even if not, my only hint is to experiment with "Animation - Change unit's vertex coloring" action.

I also don't know it is possible to store unit's coloring in variables, but I could be wrong...

After some tests I have realised that manipulating Siphon Mana/Life Drain is more than easy (their targets I mean). If you want them dummy, its even better.

To make SM/LD affect friendly units, then you must set the amount of mana/life (preferrably life, unless you want it only to affect units with mana) pushed into the unit (MP/LP Transferred field) to 0.01. Set mana/life drained fields to 0.

To make SM/LD affect only enemy units, then you must set the amount of mana/life (again, preferrably life
and you know why) drained from the unit (MP/LP Drained field) to 0.01. Set the mana/life transferred field to 0.

To make the spell targetable for both just give 0.01 to both the fields I mentioned above. That's all!

Ummm.... Daelin? what does that got to do with anything? his problem was with colouring and you gave advice (not bad advice :) ) about targeting. Did you mean this to go to another thread?
