If you mean by "turning off start locations" is removing the buildings/workers that pop up on the start location, then delete the melee initialization triggers, if you mean the centering of a player camera on the start location, pan the camera elsewhere with a game start event (or map initialization, but I forget if that works or not).

Thats illogical in pure logic.

Start location has only one real purpose, after game starts, view of player is centered there. (workers, main hall are via trigger, that can be deleted)

So why use pan camera elsewhere? Just move start location elsewhere :)

No, it isn't. If you want a purely randomized start location, not just one out of the number of start locations, or randomized teams and base that off of the start location, or basically randomized anything. You are correct if it's just a static location, but there is more than just that.

No i am pretty shure you cannot remove the start locations but you may pan the camera but as Restor said it is illogical to pan the camera at map init.

No-no-no.

Why do you need to disable start locations? What is the actual problem with them? Please, be more objective, LordSpeed.

And initus meant that you can disable the "Fixed Start Location" box at Map Options - Players for their camera not to pan to their start location. And also he meant that in some maps players have their initial start point being set at random, so the camera has to be automatically panned to the point where they are starting.
