I don't get it.

Did you watch SGU?

Throughout the entire show they talk about things like their ship (Destiny) is designed to find the end of the universe, discover why we're all here, etc.
In the last episode they're crossing Galaxies (obviously much space between the two) so they all need to go into Hypo sleep or w/e.
Unfortunately theres only one last working bed, with two of the main actors at the end.
The main guy (the one you connected with throughout the entire show because he mostly represents the average viewer) decides to stay out and attempt to fix the last bed, but he will probably be killed.
The last shot of the series is of him looking out of the glass into hyperspace (shown above).
The series then ends.
There will be no more series to be made, and no movies and / or games about this TV show.

They essentially left it on a cliff hanger which will never come to a close.

They fuckin killed all the Stargate fans!

While it will air the balance of season 2 on schedule, Syfy has decided to not renew Stargate Universe for a third season. The series has 10 episodes remaining in its second season and Syfy will air these episodes as planned next Spring.

Crews were called out to strike the sets of Stargate Universe at The Bridge Studios. Brad Wright has addressed rumors that the show would not get the movie he had been hinting at in the past few months since cancellation. In February of this year, the arrangements had already been made to start striking the sets starting in March, but this announcement in April means that he was given one month to make a case for the show. This was probably based on ratings performance, which was…to say the least…dismal.

I loved Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis but Universe was a bit boring. I loved the color in older stargates but Universe was just dark and colourless.

A lot of people thought like you and that's why the show had shitty ratings but I loved the whole thing.
It just seemed more down to earth than the other ones, especially now that I go back and watch some of the older episodes.
I would KILLLL for a finale to the show!
