There was a small patch without any patch notes to everyone that started the beta. This is being investigated, and patch notes will be added once the Battle.net forums are up from their maintainance.

Well, there was one patch released under hour before the first phase of the beta ended.

i already have 0.18.0 and the last patch was weeks ago. fail.

As I said, some hours before the beta ended. People had barely enough time to try it out before it ended.

The patch supposedly fixed a crash and made earlier replays not compatible.

That's impossible. Replays launch older versions of sc2 in order to play.

That's not exactly possible when Blizzard intentionally changed some stuff which broke compatibility with replays on older version of the game. Ask the angry guys over at TeamLiquid if you don't believe me.
