Stairs..?

I've seen several stairs in some maps and some pictures.. Its like, other way of "ramps" which goes from one level of ground to a higher one. Question is, how do you do that?

Usually with Invisible Platforms and non-pathed doodads.

but do you need to make a custom doodad in order to make the unit able to "climb" upwards?

Not at all. You can use any model you want. The unit should climb upwards if you adjust the heights of the invisible platforms (Ctrl+PageUP & Ctrl+PageDown).
