----- About -----

As the title says, this is a hero arena. But why does it say, "square"? The reason I called this map Square Hero Arena, is not because you get to be little squares running around and casting spells. The map's middle area design is that of a square (duh). The whole map is the Sunken Ruins tileset, and is meant to be an island-ish scene.

There are 2 main areas to this map:

The Arena

The arena is where a lot of the events take place (see events for more info). Obviously, the heroes will fight in the arena too. Once everyone has picked their heroes from their Taverns at the start of the game. the doors to the arena will open in their area (see Teams).

The Shopping Area

This is where all the shops are; the Soul Tavern, Item Shop, Item Recipes, and Tome Shop. The Shopping Area will not see a *lot* of attention, except for at times when it becomes vulnerable. Yes, that means, the shopping area is accessable to all teams, and its invulnerable most of the time, except for when the Island Gods are angry, and they will make the Shopping Area vulnerable. But don't worry, after a couple minutes, the Shopping Area will become invulnerable again.

From the Shopping Area, you can get multiple places. There is one creep area and 2 boss areas. These bosses are hard, and you will need to level quite a bit, unless the -eb mode was turned on (See Game Modes). You also can exit the area through two areas. One will take you to the Fountain Area, and the other will put you at a random point in the arena.

Game Modes

Game Modes are activated by the host *player one*. Here is a list of game modes as of the latest stable Square Hero Arena.

-vis (visible) Makes the whole map visible to players. Good for newbies.

-fast Reduces the health of all player's heroes and units by a little, aswell as the bosses by a lot. (boss reduction does not stack with -eb

-6v6 Makes the game North and East versus South and West.

-nf (no fountains) Removes the fountains in the middle of the Arena. (recommended to be turned on, else players will run around the fountains making it annoying to kill them.)

-ns (no souls) Gives infinite souls to all players (This will probably be removed in the coming versions.)

-shopsafe Makes the Shopping Area always vulnerable.

-nsh (no soul heroes) Removes Soul Heroes from the game.

-noping Removes the every 45 second ping on heroes.

-eb (easy bosses) Reduces the health of bosses by a lot (not recommended for use with -6v6. -fast does not stack with this).

-notele Players can no longer enter the Shopping Area by entering the door from the arena, meaning the only way to get there is death. (not recommended, might be removed in coming versions).

-notrade Players cannot trade souls or gold with each other.

-dpoff (double points off) Turns Double Point Events off.

-kills(20-80) Changes the required kills to win the game. Example: -kills30. 50 kills is the default.

Game Sets

Game Sets are a combination of Game Modes. Typing in the command for a game set will activate all the game modes specified by the game set.

-blind (-noping -shopsafe -fast -kills30) A fast game mode. Finding other heroes will not be easy because -noping was turned on. Beware, the shopping area is no longer safe!

-god (-noping -ns -eb -fast -vis) God has given you ultimate powers! You can see the whole map, kill bosses faster, and change heroes when you want.

-quick (-eb -fast -vis -nf -noping -dpoff -kills20) A very, very fast game mode. You can see everyone on the map, and they are easy to kill, aswell as bosses. But careful, every death counts! First to 20 wins!

-gut (-eb -vis -nf -noping -kills40) A game not recommended for -6v6 mode. With some of Gut_Chewer's preferences (me) for a newbie game.

Souls

Souls take the place of Lumber. They are used to make you a different hero at the Soul Tavern. You cannot get the hero back that you chose at the beginning of the game though!

In order to gain souls, kill other heroes or bosses, or wait for Souls to be scattered around the arena every couple minutes.

Events

Events are things that happen in certain times of the games. Below are a list of events in the current stable map.

On-going Event: Every certain amount of time, innocent souls are scattered around the arena.

First Event: 4 tomes of power and a Shield of Honor are spawned around the arena.

Second Event: Double points. All kills earn double points to the scoreboard for 3 minutes.

Third Event: An undead ghoul is spawned with an 800 gold bounty, plus regular gold and souls for a hero kill.

Fourth Event: The Island Gods summon everyone to the middle of the Battle Arena for a big battle.

Fifth Event: Bunny Invasion! Bunnies are scattered around the battle arena. Kill them for gold and experience!

Sixth Event: 2 Legendary Items are spawned at random points of the battle arena.

Seventh Event: Another Double Points event for 3 minutes.
