I had the same problem with one of my models but I finally managed to find the issue. If you convert it to MDL you'll see a list of animations at the beginning. The sequence intervals should be in order, otherwise the model won't function properly. The animations you've mentioned are misplaced, for example Birth (0-60000) should be the first animation in the list, and not between Spell (71000-73000) and Death (107000-109000).
tl;dr version: Just rearrange the list at the beginning of the MDL, reconvert it to MDX and it should work
