Solved: DC and Copyrighted Music

Hi everyone!

I’m working on a Warcraft III map and I’d like to include tracks from games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring.

Of course, I will credit the original composers

My question is:

👉 Does using copyrighted music (even with credit and non-commercial use) affect the possibility of getting the Director’s Cut rating on Hive Workshop?

Thanks in advance

Solved: it doesn’t affect the Director’s Cut.

No. Using copyrighted music does not affect the Director's Cut rating on Hive Workshop.

Oh, I thought that using copyrighted music might get you deleted!
It might, especially if the content owners demand it. I do not know of any case where this has actually occurred, but it is theoretically possible. A legally operating website like Hive would have to obey any DMCA takedown notices issued that are legitimate and inside appropriate jurisdiction.
