Social Group Notifications

So, I'm bringing this up here because as far as I'm aware it hasn't been publicly addressed yet. And failing that, I'm at the very least dead certain it hasn't been rectified.

Apparently there's no notification for social groups. There's an option to subscribe -- both to the group itself and the discussions -- but there's no notification. And yes, gun to the head I didn't try e-mail notification, because quite frankly I wouldn't particularly fancy having my e-mail (which could do with some serious plumbing already) clogged by notifications.

Couldn't this be conducted the same way subscribing is in general threads and topics; via notices in the user control panel?

I agree to this idea, some groups have important notices to its members. Also, I get the feeling groups are ignored because they aren't getting much attention like threads or so.

Quite honestly, I think I've done my fair share of praying, wishing and loss of bodyparts for that promised cauldron at the end of the rainbow.
If the release of the site isn't iminent in the closest parts of my future, I'd like to see something done to this.

And yes, to any ignorant readers of this post, I completely agree to the afformentioned statement about notifications being implemented.
- I don't always have opinions, but when I do, I often relate stuff to incoherrent things to emphasis my points.

Oh and despite the little care I have about it, I did join Medivhs Tower. Or so it was expected by the ones who moderate it to do.
