So I'm building a gaias wiki

Right so this project has been dead for a while, most of the information on it will need editing, along with more work done alongside that.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP, I AM INTERESTED. The wiki, and it's pages, are mostly quite empty, it's all a bunch of basic work. I'm fine on images, I've collected a bunch of those. Icons would be handy, but ingame screenshots I did ages ago.

Writers though, I'm up for. PM me if you would like to help

Even if your English is fairly illegible, I will edit anything submitted to me regardless, with permission of the writer of course, so that the wiki is easy to understand for pretty much anyone who stumbles upon it.

As the title says, I'm building a gaias wiki. It's a shitton of work but once it's finished it's going to be awesome. I've got a large collection of data put aside for it so far as I've had this idea for a while, bunch of screenshots of items and shit etc. Basically I have the plan there but what I'm making this thread for is suggestions.

If anyone has any ideas, any at all, feel free to post them here. So far I've only got a few pages up and most of the text is placeholder text. It's still growing, I'll work on it when I have the time and give people access if I believe they can get the job done.

Other that that, ideas people, pages I might have missed, things worth noting down.

Trivia for various pages, i.e. current max level is 37, other various bits of information that could be somewhat amusing.


Aside from that, if you think you can help out, feel free to PM me about it but I wouldn't suggest doing anything without checking with me first as I may already have it done.

Darkly I don't mean to be a pain in the ass but I mentioned in the thread here, if you want to help out, please let me know, as I've already gone by and collected all sorts of information and I'd hate to delete any hard work anyone has put in for anything I had arranged previously.

I thought only I could edit the wiki so far o_o how the shit did you manage to change it lol

Found out I only protected the home page lol

I'm going to chuck each page under protection for now just so they can only be edited with permission while I construct the wiki.

As for the items page darkly, it's going to be a page that directly links to different kinds of items, as opposed to an extensively large list of all items available in gaias. I'll be using pictures of the item itself as opposed to typing out all related text. I may do both, and if so, then I'd greatly appreciate your help at that time but for now items is under control.

Just wanted to let people know the work on the wiki will slow down substantially since I'm currently playing the shit out of Borderlands 2. If anyone wants to help I'll still be checking my messages daily.

Oh crap... I apologize I did not read far enough I got too happy over the idea of wiki that i went straight to working on unfilled spots. I only included tutorial area monsters, the 10 T2 classes, and under quests i had a section on Gaia Retaliation Part I and II. It was my mistake, if you wish to delete any of it you may.

Oh, bugger. I'll have a look into it later. Any filler text doesn't bother me too much, I may in fact expand on it or if it works, leave it as is lol. You'll be credited and showered with jewellery of your choosing.

Mainly things that involve a set layout bug me, like the items I will probably use pictures instead of hard text.

I'll get to work on it again soon, I've just been quite lazy lately. Borderlands is fun but in the end its the same game as the first one.

I have an idea: let's make a Gaias website ! I am wordpress developer and i am willing to make a decent site for free. All the information gathered for wiki can be stored on that site. Idea is to have faster access to informations such is changelog, bug reports, suggestions, game info and news ( i don't know, maybe add something more? ). Any web designer help will be appreciated to make a site more beautiful, since i basically don't design stuff. Yeah, if you are interested, you should buy a domain name and some basic hosting. With joint forces, we can make a beautiful site.

As much as I'd like a website, I feel that its counter-productive, as it devides the community. Gaias profits alot of Hiveworkshops community. When shifting everything over to a dedicated site, it might result in less players "accidently" finding the map.

I guess you are right that we should all stick to one website. Then, all the info gathered for wiki can also be held here in a sticky post. It would be especially useful for beginners to read to get the idea what is Gaias Retaliation before playing it.

Tbh most of the guides are already here, I would just recommend stickying the wiki when it's complete as it will have most of the information you wanted to place on a website.

If I give free editing reign I'll get a swarm of crap through there. If anyone is interested they can contact me and write somewhere else, like Word or Notepad for example, and then I'll transfer and edit the actual wiki itself.

I'll also attempt to grant privileges etc where trusted people can edit pages.
