Map description
The seals were once happy in there home but global warming has made the glaciers and ice melt, causing the polar bears to invade upon their territory. Help the seals find a new place to call home.

Modes available:
1.All-allied: It's the primary mode, found in all Slide/Run games. Here, seals stick together to achieve their goal. Leave the group and you'll hit the ass of a bear in no time. Certain aggressive items are not available in this mode, as all players are in the same team. Number of rounds passed successfully required to win is chosen by the host.

2. Team versus Team: As the seals slide peacefully to reach their promised land, a bunch of terrorist seals come and claim there's no space for both on the desired snow-oasis. Which team is going to win the race? Play and find out! Offensive items allowed. Number of rounds passed successfully required to win is chosen by the host. Team deaths to lose: -5. Reaching the center of the map: +1. All allies dead: -1 + resurrection.

3. Fun: As the hopeless seals approach the 3rd checkpoint, they are faced with a HUGE amount of fur! Oops! Seems like the Bear-Motherboard had deported a bigger number of minions than planned and expected. Invasion gone wild or nightmare scene, call it as you like: It's obviously a grill party and you're on the menu! Will the defenceless seals ever pass the 100 bears lane?

4. Rush: The competitive spirit has awaken once again in the hearts of sportseals. "Rush" or the "Solo seal race" is ideal for those ready for a challenge.Race the others to the center of the map and gain the required points before anybody else! You're always resurrected, from the last checkpoint or the beginning of them map,depending on the number of lives you have - 5 in total- which is decreased as you die. When it reaches 0 , you're revived at the beginning with 5 new lives. The game ends when somebody "crosses the finish line". Number of points required to win is chosen by the host.

Reworked most of the things:
Now the host (Player1 Red) can change the game mode when he decide changing the game mode will require voting from all players by saying yes or no

Those are just a few fixes i made so the map is more playable, so me and my clan mates can enjoy it.

Slide Seal Slide 0.44 is a variant of the traditional ice sliding maps, with a few small twists.

The map was presented decently, with an informative description. The ice terrain was definitely suitable for this map, and didn't take away from the gameplay at all. The only terrain problem I had was the over-use of waterfalls in a peticular area. It made the map laggy for a few players I happened to be playing with (I did not experience the lag myself). A large complaint here was the custom sound. While having a fast-paced song is a tradition in maps of this genre, it really isn't needed. It can be quite distracting, and increases the file size significantly.

While the idea behind the map has become
quite cliché, this is probably the best iteration I've seen. The addition of different modes helped differentiate the map from generic slide maps.

Rating: 2.3 and recommended for approval.

My Recommendations:
Remove the custom sound.
Remove the waterfalls.
Make the game slightly mroe configurable by the host, such as the speed at which players slide on the ice, and the amount of polar bears.
Add more original features (although it's definitely not generic).
Create a few quests which provide details about the map, such as commands.

Wow! When I first clicked this, I thought it was just another Slide Ninja/kitty/ect Slide map, just with some different music. I were wrong! This actually has some other features... Thats good! :) I guess xD

Edit: Okay... I didnt like the map... Not much of it was edited or anything... And there was TONS of polar bears on the lowest column, which made it impossible to pass. (I played it on All-Allied Fun mode)
And I also think, that you should just kick the players who says 'no tnx' to a new round.

Thank you for the review. I will edit the waterfalls or will remove them in the next version, but about the custom song my clan lord wonna to remain there we was talking with her alot of times about it but this is edition for our clan and she have the last word. About sliding speed on the ice and the amount of polar bears i will try to add those options in the next version 10x for the review again

I'm sorry you didn't like it. It's actually one of my favourite maps, esspecially because it's a lot of fun playing it with friends! Maybe you didn't have the chance, or maybe you've encountered some technical difficulties which put the other aspects in shade.
However, i think you've been a bit to harsh. First of all, there are more edited things than you claimed. Maybe you didn't notice the new items, changes brought to the old ones, the minor improvements done regarding the terrain or maybe you didn't check out all the modes. Indeed fun mode is close to a typical slide/run game, except for that impossible number of bears on the 3rd lane. I must apologise for it. The mode is still unstable due to the lack of a solution to pass that certain part. I'm working on it, though,and i'm confident that we'll make the mode decent in no time.
Concerning the kick players aspect, i would like to add a couple of more words. Firstly, if the ones who pick "No thx" don't want to play another round,though the game started once again, they can simply leave. They are 1-2 clicks away from doing it and i can't imagine the need of such an option when there's such an easy solution. Second of all, i must tell you that the game actually has a kick-player option available for the host only. If the host types "kick" a menu with the players in game will pop up and any can be kick with a simple click. Again , it's my mistake that you were not aware of it: I'll make a "quests log" as soon as possible ,writing there everything one needs to know about the game.
I personally appreciate all your reviews and assure you that both i and Attracted will consider them to make our future versions more proficient.

Edit: my signature is ok (only in forums) but i write the map description my self. Please when you do some changes on the site do somthing in order to preven data loss i can't spent 15 minutes every time when i wonna update my map!!!

You should save the description in note pad and use it if the data is lost. That is what I did.

However, I going to evaluate it. Expect an answer pretty soon.

1) Description - Well organize and written, this is the fine example of a good submissions. However, I definitely said the information inside the map could be improve by elaborate further about the game.

2) Terrain - The terrain was lacking, it might be unacceptable for other genre map such as AOS. However, this is a mini-games genre; thus the terrain was acceptable.

3) Sound & Music - I have to said you did not do a good job over this matter. Instead of import the music as music, you import it as a sound. This makes the music been played along with warcraft 3 music; which certainly kill the joy of it.

Also, the seal suppose to have the seal sound.

4) Tooltips/Hotkey - I have to said not all hotkey are working. There is 2 potion of mana and none of it contain a proper hotkey, please fix that.

For some strange reason, it bugged and did not respawn my seal after I dead (Even though I still have 2 lives remaining).

I would not going to rate it or vote for any approval/rejection at this moment, there is a few more thing require you to fix it.

Fixed the bug that don't revive you after activate a chek point, hot keys changed. About the description inside the map will be considered where,what and when :wink: coz i am only GUI triggering my clan lord will help me for the other things:cute:

Next version will be around 29-31th 05 2009 :ugly:

2. Size is big becouse there is music inside it
3. Warcraft is 6+ years old game it's hard/imposible to make somthing original

Stating it was a low quality map and contain huge file size is not a valid reason to give it 1/5. You need to elaborate it to get a clear define that are acceptable to the author and helping him in map development.

For your information, slide ninja slide was originally a remake of run kitty run. But instead of running, slide ninja slide was focus at sliding.

To onix_noob : You can reduce the file size by decreasing the quality of the music. As far as I know, you can use audioedit for it.

Good game, I really enjoyed playing this. I would play this all day if I could actually find a speed that wasnt too slow or too fast for me.


Fun mode is impossible to beat due to polar bear blockage lol.
Being able to change the game mode without remaking would make this game a hit.
Race mode wont work for me.

the All Allied mode is a bit too fast. you should have the speed changeable.

Admins i think the map is ready for preview or i hope so it should be stable as much as i think. Septimus thank your for your patience for me to fix the map and to change it for good i think now the desired effect is maked. I try to make system that in team vs team mode separate players to be = automatic but i don't make it, it was to hard. I also wasn't having time to make any way to pass the 3rd line on fun mode (i was having somthing on my mind but ...). Whatever enough talking from me i hope you all will like the new live that i and Breakaway93 (from garena) put in this map and have nice sliding.
