Simple animation request

Hello everybody! That's my first post on the board, so I would like to say welcome :cwink: ! Now, when we are past introduction, this is the thing that I came to you with. There is a model out there, Nerubian Sniper, outstanding work by -Grendel. Problem is, I didn't knew that this phenomenal author is dead (R.I.P.), and I'm left with an issue. Model that I linked has no spell casting animation (nor hero glow, but that I overcame). I'm not skillfull enough to implement such, so I have a question - is here someone who can make simple casting animation for this astonishing piece of art? I'm in a great need of such a thing. I know that it is somewhat awkward to ask for such a favor while maker of the model is deceased, but I have no other way.

Kudos for asking the difficult questions.

That is an excellent model. While I'd heard it has some kind of animation issues, I'm surprised a Spell animation wasn't included...

One suggestion might be this: if you can find a suitable-looking animation in his existing set (like an Attack anim or something), you can easily make a copy of it and Rename it to "Spell", thus affording that model a Spell animation. I believe this can be done relatively simply with Magos.

Could be entirely crazy, though. Good luck. :p

Many thanks for your help Kyrbi0 :wink: ! I did as you suggested and there is frankly speaking almost no effect. I copied all stats of Attack - 1 animation into new Spell animation (I'm speaking about Windows -> Sequence Menager), but... here it is how it looks in game when my brave hero is casting a spell, spell being copy of Far Sight (in WE there is no new new animation at all) - you can see this in that picture. Can you give me some advice what to do with this?

PS: I'm sorry if my posts seems strange or not understandable, English is not my first language.
 
did you try to play the animation in Magos too?

I think it could be that the model just didn't get refreshed in the WE... try removing the model completely, save then close WE... reopen WE, reopen your map, and reimport, then save and use the newly imported model...

btw, why not set the actual Spell to just use the Attack animation instead? if that spell is only used by the Sniper and by no other units, then there should be no problem

Yes, I tried playing Spell animation in Model Editor and it works completly fine. I'm using this one not in a map but in a campaign, can that be causing problems? I did as you suggested, I deleted the model from campaign imported files, saved everything, reopened, imported again, used - same effect.

Yep, that is the ability used only by my new hero, so I think the last solution won't hurt - can you tell me how to do it :p ?
