Shop Targeting

Is there a way to command individual shops so that they do not target a unit type? I have a backpack hero unit that follows the player hero, and sometimes shops that sell class upgrades give it to the backpack instead of the main hero. It would be ideal if most shops could still interact with that unit normally.

Give that shop a modified version of the "select unit" ability that can only target heroes.

The backpack unit i am trying to avoid targeting is also a hero

Then give the backpack unit a classification like Suicidal or Ancient and use the "non-X" target options to filter it out.

Edit: My bad, you definitely did say it was a hero in your post.
