I love the contrast. The colors you chose also compliment each other nicely. However, it's a little hard to tell the difference between the blade and the pole. It would probably have to do with that awkward bend you have right before the pole and blade meet.

The pole is the stick to grab and hold the weapon. He's saying they're too similar. I kinda agree, but your icon's pretty beautiful nevertheless.

Love the colors, but the anatomy does look a little bit off unless you imagine the staff line, when you see it's actually functional.

As it has already been said, there is not enough distinction between the handle and blade. Nevertheless, it looks nice and could be useful.
