Rotate units around x-axis?

Well - first of all, hi

I want a unit to rotate (o rly?) but not the common way, rather like this

|   <-old unit
_   <-new unit

Is this possible without using a model editor?
I used the search function but it gave me nothing helpful ( -.- )

If i m not wrong,
go to
object editor > your unit > art > maximum roll angle > shift+Enter > key in -90
(negative 90) _ <- new unit
