Here's the deal.

I'm chieften of clan LDNS (Living Dead Neutralization Squad), in warcraft. We obsess over zombie maps (Dawn of the dead). I've read both of Max Brooks zombie books (World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide so im serious when it comes to zombies. I'm a prett good mapmaker, lots of people like my maps. This is a full scale zombie map to honer my clan and stuff, so it will be finished. Now, heres where it gets interesting.


I'm asking from one of you good terrainists out their to help me start out my zombie map.

I have these custom skins so you can ask for those in a bit.


Constraints

Size: 192x192

Tiles: Lordereon Fall - Dirt, Grass, Heavy Grass, and rock unbuildable
Village (Fall) - Crops, Cobble Path, and Stone Path (unbuildable)
Daralen Ruins - Round tiles, Brick (unbuildable)


Yes all those fit because i tried it. Those are the tiles I like.


Other things.

I'd like a few small villages through out the map. Otherwise some fields and fences with some gaps. Have some villager dead bodies lying around. Lots of debries (like a warzone and chaos).

Have some defenses set up with a custom unit barricade.

Some houses on fire also
Save a spot at the top left for picking the guy you want to start out with.

Use some blight to, and those nasty blighted trees also.

Don't forget the burnt corpses under doodads.


The map is going to be like a survive as long as possible with some RPG to it, like quests and objectives.



Story
So someone contracts this disease causeing them to reanimate (zombie). The army/police find out to late, and your left to survive and protect people. I'm baseing it off of MAx Brooks book "World War Z".

1. Its called zombie man, and zombie lady, they are like villagers, but bent over and all zombie like, its really cool.
2. Real life, directly from the book, i can fillu in if you want more.
3. Just a small outpost, not to big.
4. Like 3-4 small - medium sized villages.
5. OH MOST DEFINATLY! I will make a custom quest in your name, and a little opening cinomatic for you ;)
6.I'd say about 50% wilderness 40% town village, and 10% open field (with like fences and stuff).

Dude nice, i was thinking just a square area for choosing, but u went above and beyond and made it lots better. thats fricken awesome. What about the swamp then?

Moontraveler, make the water a tint green, and that would be one of the best swamps ive ever seen, actually trhe best i think. unless someone can prove me wrong.

edit: and smooth it out just a tad, and its great!

Well use the ones from wc3campaigns.net

Which ones :slp:... (I'm trying to keep the filesize as low as possible untill Koopa tells me the max amount of import size I can have.) (Though I have to admit that the tropical trees are out of place.)

Ok I did a bit of work on the swamp
1. Removed tropical trees and replaced them. (Sorry 43berries they're not the custom ones.)
2. Added cattails and lilypads.
3. Tinted water green. (So it looks infected and disturbing but not ZOMG slime! type.)

ok let me see, ill edit some crap, and post it here. and its not DotD, its NotLD


Edit: Ok heres what you need to do, have the swamp take up the bottom right of the corrner. roudn it off with the rest of the map, and then have the rest like open field with some towns ok?

GJ keep it up, i need the map in about like 4-5 days if thats possible.


Edit (again): Dont edit this yet, i will post it tomarrow (monday) and make regions where to put everything, if your EVER online, PM me so i know your on.

I'm working on a multiplayer PvP Zombie Survival Map myself and i was kind of wondering what kind gameplay of your map has.

Will it be PvP or mainly PvE?

And another thing, where did you get these zombie models dude?
And can i use them if they are not specificly made for this map?

Simply read tutorials. It's really easy, any terrainer can do it.

The terrain needs work. A lot of work. The marsh/swamp needs grass and better trees. A better tile variation and it needs a ton of smoothing.

Ya I'm still a noob compared to you... I should of read Wasted Savoir's tutorial on swamps before I started working on it. Also I am working on the smothing though I honestly don't know where to find better trees.

(Sorry that progress has been slow School and RL have been slowing me down.)

Pic 3: An island I added due to a mistake when making the terrain so I kept it.
