Replacing the Minimap Image.

Is there a way to set the ingame minimap to something other than the terrain? I've seen this done before, but I don't know how to replicate it and I see no tutorials.

Go to Import Manager and import your desired image.
For the path, type this in. (Case sensitive)
"war3mapMap.tga"

Also, the one for the preview is
"war3mapPreview.tga"

Both images must be 256x256 or 128x128 and in .tga format.
