I found a great model of a frostwyrm but its super huge scaled, if i want to scale it down to a fitting size the added glow effects start looking super ugly and out of place (adding picture below).

is there a way to remove them?
i tried with magos and with matrix but none if them was able to show me the points of the model where the effects are coming from - i've heared that these effects are so called particles and that they seem to work a little diffrent than the rest of the model does but thats all i know..

i need help with that please.

well, i was not expecting someone to remove it for me if there is a way to do it myself with the tools mentioned. -> i mean if i can do it myself i want to know what i need to do so that for future issues i dont need to ask someone else again ^^

if there is really no way for me to do it sure u can dl the model from chaosrealm: chaosrealm.info/topic/7849969/1/ (i just dont know if its fine to post another sites link here o_O - if so please remove it)

Interesting. It would appear particle emitters indeed don't scale with the models, I always thought they do, and put extra effort to have it so in my code.

Regardless, to answer the question - it is indeed particle emitters.
In Magos, open the Node Manager window, where you can see all 4 particle emitters, marked with an arrow on purple background.
Double click on one to open its properties.
There are two things you will likely want to change:
  1. The size of the emitter, which effectively determines how far particles can spawn from the center.
  2. The size of the particles themselves.
To change how far particles can spawn, you need to set the Width and Length properties.
None of them are animated, so you can put the values you want directly.
So if you scale to 20%, do the same to the values.

To change the particle sizes, you need to change the Scaling property in Segment 1, Segment 2, and Segment 3.
Again, scale them accordingly.

I would still like the input of an experienced modeller (@General Frank ?), because it's new to me that particles don't scale correctly (seemingly also for Model Space emitters!)

omg yes that worked!
thank you so much!
i also learned how to adjust the colors there (didnt know i could even do that xD)

thank you a lot!

about the wierd interactions of that model: try to scale its whole size down and look at what the models looks like, some bones seem to be static relative to the pivot point and wont scale with it. also seems like all points used for animations wont scale down with it too - its a wierd model, but it looks and works really nice ingame :D
