When you highlight a Hero, or pre-select it, it will say something like:
"PlayerName
Hero Name
Level X"

Any way to remove "hero name"?

I've tried tinkering with Game Interface but to no success.

Put "," in the heros propername list via shift+enter.
Its not perfect but the best way I know.

You could ofc make your hero a normal unit and trigger a lot of stuff but that has some big downturns in the UI.

Either you did it wrong (just a "," in there, without the quotation marks) or you mean the fact that the box around it is still as big as before removing the info which is the flaw.
