Please, when posting a thread, keep in mind the Hive Workshop's rules.

The full set of rules can be found @THW Rules

  • Forums
    • Threads
      • Double Threading
Don't make two threads about the same subject. It serves no purpose.
      • Bumping
Posting in a thread solely to change the way it is listed is almost never constructive. People might be less annoyed if two days have passed since the last post.
      • Revival
Posting in old threads is considered necroposting. If you do this, you should have a good reason to do so.
      • Notable
We don't care about your post count or rep. Not enough for it to warrant a thread, in any case.
    • Posts
      • Double Posting
Double posting is posting two consecutive posts. You should have a reason to do so.

Also, keep the following in your mind in this specific forum.

  • Starcraft II Forum
    • Threads
      • Correct location of thread
If you have questions regarding the Galaxy Editor's functions, or having problems with it, there is a sub-forum made for that.
        Galaxy Editor Help Zone
      • Asking for Starcraft II Resources
As with every game this has happened to, you are not allowed to have the resources of the Beta without having a Beta key. If the owner of the resources you took (Activision Blizzard) finds out, he (or they) will be able to prosecute you with a lawsuit.
      • Telling people about what Starcraft II has to offer
You should not make a thread in the main forum. There is the "Beta Information Sharing Center", which you can post there for people to learn about Starcrat II.
        Beta Information Sharing Center
      • Don't post requests
Sure, Projects and teams are fine. But please, do not make threads about requesting people to make stuff for you. You can easily use the Requests forum, and add a tag in the name of your thread. (For example, "[Sc2] High Poly models required!"
        Requests Forum
      • Tutorial Submission
Don't submit useless tutorials or tutorials that have been created in the past, unless that tutorial is incomplete and lacking elements that guide others successfully. Also, DO NOT post tutorials as links, and only post them IF the creator of the tutorial allowed you to do so.
    • Illegal Material
      • Hacks
Hacks are bad, and not supported by this community. Posting material like this on the forums can lead to a permanent ban by moderators or administrators.
      • "Cracks" of Starcraft II
The so called "Cracks" are not allowed in this community. Cracks consist, but not limited to tutorials (How to "Crack"), programs, hacks, and generally anything illegal that allows you to play Starcraft II Beta without a Beta key.
      • Anything that breaks the law

Thanking Someone

As you should have noticed, The Hive Workshop has a reputation system, which is a good way to say thanks.

Repping is easy to do.

The name of the user will be displayed.

You can comment on users, say thanks, and such.

Finally, clicking Add to Reputation will give him +1 rep power!

Now, that is a nice way to say thanks, isn't it?

World Editor Help Zone - Make a post easy to answer!

First of all, you must know English to post a question, and get it answered.

In case you aren't that good with English, try Google Translator. It should help you with the translation.

Make a detailed post.

We can't answer your questions if you post a thread called "Adding more models to a unit", saying "It's for a project i am working on".
To solve that, devs don't even think of that phrase.ANALYZE IT
Add what you are trying to do, explain it, post your attempts, and such.

No offense to the creator of the actual thread.

Don't post Engrish.

We can't answer your posts if we don't understand what you are saying. If you noticed, most of the Hive uses proper English, and not 1337 speak.

Post your imports!

There might be a file causing a problem to your map, and you don't even know about that problem, while the devs do, and don't know you have the file imported. That will cause you some serious problems.

Use the
tags!

Try to keep your post organized by using the
tags. They're quite useful at hiding some stuff, like Imports.

[COLOR=Red][HIDDEN="[COLOR=Cyan]Like this[/COLOR]"][/COLOR][COLOR=Magenta]h4x[/COLOR][COLOR=Red][/HIDDEN][/COLOR]

Will give you this

h4x

Red ones are tags.

The text in light blue is the one you want to be displayed next to the view button.
Pink is the content of your hidden tags.

Recognising your thread's contents [TAGS]

When creating a thread to ask for help, or something else, like a discussion, use Tags. They aren't actual tags, but help people recognise the thread's contents.

For example, using [Team] for a team recruiting thread, or a [REQUEST] for requests. Be creative, and try to make them simple.

For example, if you want to ask for help in the Data Editor, you wouldn't use the tag [DATA EDITING BUGS], use something more like, [DATABUGS], or something similar. [PATHING] For pathing, etc.

REMEMBER TO PUT THESE IN YOUR THREAD TITLE ONLY.
