Quotation system suggestion

I know this might sound lazy but can a selected fragment of a post be quoted without having to use the whole text quote button? It would be easier and faster to quote exactly what someone needs to.
If anyone has a Battle.net account, then you know what I'm writing about here.
On Blizzard's forums a quote button appears right under the selected text of a post. When that button is pressed, the text fragment is automatically integrated in the message/reply box as a [QUOTEuserID]TEXT[/QUOTE].
