When importing models , what am I really suppose to do with the .blp file? The "Not sure how to import this model?" thing isn't really helpful at ALL ...

import it to the path?

Importing paths of file should be given in models description at "Paths" section
After importing blp double click on imported file
Check the custom path thick
then enter the path in description
for example in this model
you import blp with impalertexture.BLP path
