hi - i made a model with about 5XX faces because i remembered that number
from the wc3arttools-documentation.
the problem now is that i have quad-faces and after importing a wc3 model i saw they use triangles-faces only - is this a must?
when i triangulate i get over 1000 faces - would this still be possible for wc3?
or is there a decent limit that you can never overstep or when its getting problematic?

the next question i have is about the wc3 bone-system :
is there something i have to or i should take care about when i rig the model -
for best compability i mean.

You can rig the model as complex as you want, with IK chains, scripting etc. because you can use 3dmaxhy's IK animation exporter to bake the animations of bones (search for it in the modeling & animation forum @ wc3c, it's in a sticky).
